Toddlerhood and my Monique

My daughter is fast asleep right now (as it is already 2am here haha!). She has now succumbed to the slumber she so stubbornly tried to avoid for 2 hours - past bedtime - and has thankfully exhausted herself to sleep. She is 2 years old now and has a strong personality. She can act (copied from what she sees on tv), dance (like an old person but still manages to be cute) and sing using anything as a microphone. She talks as if she's in a debate (though nobody could understand most of what she is saying), runs as fast as her little legs could carry as if she's being chased by everyone, plays hide and seek by covering her eyes only (really cute!), and is a very good copycat. I'm incredibly exhausted everyday yet I love waking up to her pounding on my face and screaming at my ears as she says "MOMMY, WEE-WEE!", and calming her down as she cries uncontrollably due to her fear of talking dolls and loud noises. Despite the exhaustion and chronic back aches, I am loving every single moment of my Monique's toddlerhood and hope she never grows up, or, at least, never stop looking at me with those trusting eyes. I love every single moment of it. Do you have a toddler? What is your 'toddlerhood' story? oh, and I just bought her her very own microphone this afternoon. No more makeshift mics for my baby!

I guess my son would still be considered a toddler. He is 3-1/2. I also have a 6 year old and 8 year old. They are all certainly a handful. When my 6 year old was 2 I thought I would have a breakdown. She was and still is very ornery. She is very stubborn and sneaky. She has gotten a little better. My son is really bright for his age. At 2 he was able to say all his ABC's, know all his shapes and colors and count to 10. Now he can count to 39 by himself and if you help him with 40,50 etc, he gets the pattern of counting the rest of the way.

Wow he is very bright. Congratulations! My daughter right now can count up to eleven and recognizes a few shapes as well. She has also memorized Twinkle Little Star, except she uses her own words. "Wikle tar der ar..." Haha! It's really cute :) She also has this temper but I guess every toddler has that kind of trait, though maybe there are kids who could get over it much better than others. I'm still adjusting to her screaming whenever she couldn't get what she wanted.
