Should we go to war with Syria too?

It's odd that the left spent all those years calling Bush a warmonger for being in two unfunded wars. I'm starting to think the real issue is that two just wasn't enough since most (not all) on the left are all too eager to go to war with Libya. The excuse is that we are there to prevent genocide. Genocide has been redefined to mean killing anti-government protesters. Well, that's happening in Syria too. http://arabnews.com/middleeast/article326611.ece http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ktJ_YNKb28Y&feature=related http://www.monstersandcritics.com/news/middleeast/news/article_1628775.php/Activists-say-security-kills-dozens-in-Syrian-protests http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/03/20/syria-protests-continue-a_n_838120.html So what do you say? Should we enter a FOURTH war in Syria now? What about Yemen? What is the new criteria? I just want to know how many wars we need to be in and which countries are on the list.

Do we even know who we're helping here? Or once we help them win are they just going to love us so much that we won't care who they're backed by? http://www.thefirstpost.co.uk/76660,news-comment,news-politics,who-are-the-rebels-we-are-fighting-to-protect

Don't worry Debra. Everyone we've helped gain power has always been VERY friendly to the US. You know, like Fidel Castro, Sadaam Hussein, Osama bin Laden...

Let's not forget we fought side by side with Russia in WWII, only to have them threaten to annihilate us later.

No, we don't need a third or a fourth war. We don't need to be and can't afford to be the world's police. I must say, though, if there were a Republican in the White House there would probably be another one on the list which e REALLY can't even think about and that's Iran! Annie

Sorry Annie, but I disagree with you on that. Iran is one of those countries that gets a pass. Obama's already shown that he won't get involved if they kill protesters there. We've been through that. Their military is just strong enough that we won't attack them. Libya however we've went to war with because they apparently aren't a big enough threat. Well, that and Obama gets to hide behind the French after attacking.

When did Obama switch parties? I was referring to various Republicans who have made noises about attacking Iran. Surely you remember John McCain's clever "Bomb, Bomb Iran" parody? Annie

Yea, I forgot about that. It was televised, a protester was on her cell phone crying and weeping and begging America's help (on phone with news agency, CNN or MSNBC. Forgot which one) They put her on the air, it was pitiful. And yet not a word from the White House on this? That really makes our country seem hypocritcal. But suddenly...we rush into helping Lybia without taking time to consult with Congress? And the media is telling us its for humanitarian reasons. Where were the media with the call to bomb Iran? I'm not talking op/ed, but headlines. There's been headlines stating the reasons for bombing Lybia, right? I don't remember any headlines suggesting we help Iranian protesters.

Honestly, no. We can't police the whole world, and we shouldn't, and at this rate, we would be policing the world.

well with our tanks down there, we might as well just level the middle east and start all over. Then the libs can have their socialist society. we can just take over all of the oil and all of the land. wipe out the people, then we wont have to hear them complain! Then we can look at India....

Remember how the left screamed to Prs. Bush about saving Darfur? Have we heard any of that warmongering since the Obama administration began? Has Darfur suddenly become a paradise? :~D

Dude, Obama's already made Darfur into a utopia. Where have you been? Yeah, funny how their concern over Darfur quickly vanished once Bush left office. The fact is we just have a good number of people who would blindly oppose everything Bush did and will blindly support everything Obama does. Those on the left who have the guts to disagree with Obama, showing some actual integrity, have been largely ignored as his supporters pretend that only republicans are complaining.

We should only help in Syria and Yemem only if we know the new leaders will feel that the US is bad and to blame for their problems.

I really think that Americans need to quit invading other countries. Haven't you guys got enough wars going?

You'd think so, but no. Somehow the majority of those people complaining about our first two wars lined right up behind Obama to get into a third. Somehow the letter D next to his name changes everything.
