My friend is a little bit confused, she is faced with two scenario that he wanted it both, but he need to choose only one. He never want to leave his business which is still on the onset, but is doing good and the market timing is right. He want to review and take his board exam, but a bit hesitant because of some changes in the process of the exam which he was not familiar with, and also asking if it is the right time for him. So if you are in this scenario how do you decide?

How about do both? Why should we be limited to doing only one thing?? Hire some help with the business. Manage it in their spare time. Nothing lost. Everything to gain. WIN WIN

it would be hard for your friend, i guess.. that this is happening to him and that he needs to choose only one. is there no chance that he can go on with the business while he studies and reviews for the board exam. i think at least it is important that he has a running business and not leave it behind... he can ask his family member to help him with managing it... anyway... if he is only left with one choice.. he can always sit back, reflect and consider what is more important to him at this point and when he decides on this, he should be able to also ask guidance from God... perhaps.. =)

He can never serve to master at the same time, you may either hate the one and love the other, that was a good lesson coming from the bible that i have been telling him. Setting priorities is a bit important. Thank you.

Personally for me, I can really relate with this one as I have been there a couple of times myself as I am right now, and it really is a hard thing to choose sometimes where you might really need or want to go from here. For me since I am a Christian I usually find myself Praying about things and letting God help direct me in the way I need to go. I usually find the door to open a little quicker to something that is good for me and where I can adapt and fit in better as well.

The business is already there. All he has to do is to maintain it. He can review and prepare for the board exams two hours every night. Television and movies are out. So with the weekend gimmicks. No girlfriend/boyfriend dates from 6 months to a year, depending on when he/she is taking the board. Your friend has a lot of sacrifice to do till he achieves his dream. he is not at a crossroad. He is well into living his dream.

I agree you have a point with that advice. Bar exam is a bit unpredictable, he will indeed have to make some painful sacrifices. Thank you.

First, the best thing to do is to ask guidance through prayer; then list down the pros and cons of both then you weigh down; ask second opinions or advise from matured people.

Choose ONE. You cant do both. I understand what your friend is going through :) I am in the same position. The business shook me because i/ knew it could reward me in unprecedented levels but I have forgotten that I too had promises and priorities that I have set prior to having a business. I would advise you to weigh each choice. Go where your heart tells you. Dont be blinded by what others think. IT's what matters to you that counts. Go tell that to your friend Ate Jen ;) -czax
