I think that this is insane. Now, I will say that I am a Christian person. However, I was taught as a Christian to be a person that is understanding of all people and all cultures. I know that our beliefs are not the same, but that doesn't mean that I should punish people that have a set of beliefs that are different from my own. I think that Terry Jones is not a very good Christian and I would never support any of the actions that he makes.

I am a Roman Catholic believer but I'm not in favor of Mr. Jones burning the Quran. For me any book regarding religion is holy. His action is indecent and I think he's a psychotic. He needs a medical attention particularly a psychiatrist.

I dont believe burning any book is right, people should have the right to all information and make their own decision on who they are,the religion and if they want to be part of one. People need to be understanding of others and as humans the higher class animal we fail each day and other leaders, people we look up to can't accomplish this minor job either. Books are Knowledge and I believe that the knowledge should be place in the hand of people. The Pope had no rights He suppose to be an exampl of peace and doing so he shows ignorance, and hate what kind of example is that?

I'm not in favor in that action too, my friend. But I think we have different ideas to express our grievances...those people are narrow minded enough and they don't consider things with their fellow religion and so on...

I am Christian and even I think that's horrible. We don't have the same beliefs or the same Book, but I still think that everyone should learn to accept that other religions exist. No one on this Earth should be trying to force their religion down other people's throats and that includes degrading other religions by destroying a symbol of their faith.

I think burning ANY book bad. I think this Terry Jones is an evil man, and have thought so for some times. Its just as bad for anyone to burn the Quran (Koran) as it is for people of other faiths to burn the Bible. However, I would rather he burn a book than harm a hair on anyone's head. So, so long as he is targeting a book rather than people, well... he's a sick man

on the one hand, I don't agree with burning books, be it the Quran, the Christians bible or Harry Potter. it's pointless, unecessary, and serves only as an inflammatory act (oops, no pun intended) the very intention of burning a book is to offend and enrage. so it can never acheive anything good. on the other hand, book burning would hold no power whatsoever if people rose above it, and understood that their spirituality is bigger than bound paper and words. if it's not the last copy, then it being burned can't harm your spirituality. and they had to buy it from somewhere. just like the people burning harry potter were making JK Rowling and the publishers richer, where might that money they've wasted be going to? they are throwing away their own money, and it's probably ending up in the hands of the people they oppose. when you buy something, it becomes your posession, to do with as you will. book burning is rude, pointless and just shows complete stupidity. whatever the book may be. but no one would do it if people realised that it doesn't actually acheive anything, and their spirituality is bigger and more significant than paper.

A person who burns another person's holy book is a jerk, no doubt about it. And this idiot calls himself a man of God? Seriously, his church ought to kick him out. But... What about those people who were killed in Afghanistan because of this? None of them were guilty of burning Korans. They were just in the wrong place at the wrong time. It is totally wrong to kill a person for something that another person did.

Tushavi ... Terry Jones is an IDIOT!!! I did NOT support him nor his desire to provoke war!!! The US Government also did NOT support him in his quest. As a matter of fact, our Government STOPPED him from doing as he pleased!!!! He is an ordained minister who has apparently sold his soul to the devil!!! The most I can do at this point is apologize to you & the Muslim people for the intended action of one man!!! Much like I don't hold you responsible for the actions of the World Trade Center terrorists, I hope you don't hold my country nor my religion responsible for the thoughts of one nut case!!! I hope you realize that this was to have happened on September 11, 2010, & he did NOT carry through on his threat & NOT one Quran was harmed by his actions!!! As was said above, the Bible & Quran are just books & they BOTH live in our hearts. NO, I would NOT want to see my Bible burned. However, if it was burned, the words in it are burned into my heart & soul & I would continue to live by the rules God set forth in it!!! I wish I could understand the heart of a person like Terry Jones; but I don't!!! I am also POSITIVE that the God I serve did NOT support Terry Jones either & He will punish Mr Jones in due time!!!!

America's government has nothing to do with these sorts of actions in any way. A person in America is free to burn a book if they wish. Another person is free to disagree with them for doing it. That's what freedom is. It isn't always pretty. Someone might have their feelings hurt. But at the end of the day, a guy choosing to burn a book is doing nothing but making himself look like an idiot. Picking and choosing what people can and can't burn if it is their property is a great way to blur the line. You end up showing favoritism to a group while discriminating against another, or you end up restricting people's freedoms entirely. All so someone doesn't get offended? Offense is truly a relative thing and you cannot guard people from being upset over something. Well, many people disagreed with this man's intent to burn the Quran here in America. He's just another idiot. Thankfully he's an idiot not harming anyone. Forget this idiot! There are many other things in Pakistan to keep you busy. My friends from there tell me the loadshedding time is increasing and food prices are going up like crazy and gas is being limited in some areas!

I certainly can empathize with your feelings about this. I know it's insulting and can be degrading, and maybe even hurtful.... ...but they can't burn your faith nor your love..they can't destroy that. May you find peace!

Hi Tushavi Well, that is insane. I will not call that eveil but I think this was a reflection of his misinterpretetions. No Religion Preaches Hate and it is WE Humans that we interpret things our own way and do take the wrong side. I wonder that this would merely add fire to a few who would find this a potential reason to woo the youngsters into the wrong paths of hate and malice. Personally, I have respect for all religions (though I am not a follower of any specific religion). I know all religions preach only one thing - Love and Brotherhood for all.

Maybe for you its just a book but for us its our religion and burning Quran means burning Islam for us. Soon when reaction will come from Muslims then whole western media will loudly cry and say Muslims are terrorists. Peoples like Terry Jones are the real terrorists who are creating violence between religions.

So it's the guy threatening to burn a book who's a terrorist and not the guy blowing up innocent people, raping women, rioting in the streets, etc?

Holy books and national flags are not meant to be burned, I don't care what religion one is, or who they're fighting with.

Hi Tushavi, I am in complete agreement with you, it is wrong to burn any Holy Book. It's also true that we must learn to live together in peace and as friends if our civilization is to survive. Blessings.

It is not something in which I would engage. While I have my own religion and may disagree with someone else's religious point of view, I would not do such a disrespectful act.

Doesn't God allow our total freedom of choice???? Maybe we should as well. Instead of anger and hate, maybe they would change through an act of love and kindness. When you hate, hate returns. What happens when you give unconditional love?? Show them who you really are??? It's very hard to hate someone loving you. What does your holy book say about that???

Is not your god able to defend himself from one little man in the US? No, the US Government is not 'supporting' Terry Jones. In our country, we have something called 'freedom'. Freedom is the ability to express your opinion about something, without the government being able to stop you. The US Government specifically asked Terry Jones to shut up, and not doing something stupid like burn a book. But the US Government can not prevent him from doing it. That does NOT mean they support him. I am a Christian. People are killing Christians in Pakistan right now. G-d will deal with them. Not me. By the way: My best friend is a Muslim. I respect Muslims, and I have no connection to wacky Terry Jones.

I believe in freedom of religion that's why I feel free to comment on others beliefs for the purpose of propagation and correction. But to burn a book, I would never do it especially the "Quran" which could spark intimidation from the radical groups
