I been doing the same thing for the last 10 years of my life which sometimes put me into thinking if I am still doing the right thing. My salary haven't change for the last 5 years but the expenses have doubled or more and the workload are getting bigger. Last week, we have a problem in the office, we have manpower shortage because there are new facilities that would be open. One of the office staff will be assigned as field cashier and his workload will be passed on me. It was a 1-man work for 8 hours everyday, a lot of monitoring work. I have done it before, holding position which is usually done by 2 people, but I was inspire to work then that I still manage to do extra office task like purchasing and other stuff. Today, that I felt not compensated well and feeling unfairness because of a very large salary gaps of employees between the bosses who still got to enjoy lots of benefits, I felt rage in my brain. I need more patience than what I already have or else I will pack my things and resign. But thinking ahead, I would be unfair to my children if I do that because they will suffer financially as it was hard to find new job unless I found a more suitable online job.
Questions that's been running in my mind, Do I have to stay with my current job? Do I need to start to find a new one? Where would I find a suitable online job which could supplement my current salary?

You know what, your office is being unfair to you, and actually taking advantage of you. If you're no longer happy with what you're doing then maybe it's time to look for other options. I was in the same boat before, absorbing the work of 2 other staff members. At first, I took it as a challenge. However, later on I realized, hey, why am I allowing this? The work pressure just became too much for me and my efficiency in my work was already hampering my productivity. What I did was to gradually try to find online jobs, initially on a part time basis, just so I'd have a fall back just in case. When I saw that there were good prospects in working online, that's when I decided to give up my position. When I actually quit my job, I was already earning a parallel income, and now I can say that I have been earning more in a month than what I have been doing in my previous job - that is, for more than a year now. It's just a matter of will power and determination to succeed. Of course, couple that with prayers - you know the saying "Prayers move mountains"? I've proven this a lot of times and it will work for you too, I'm sure of that.
Hope this helps. Good luck!

Thank you for the inspiration, that is what I'm planning to do but it is very hard to find online jobs which could parallel my offline income. But hearing you to actually did it, I am more inspired to find work where I would be happier. I am a mother to 2 daughters and it would be nice if I could just work at home. Maybe, you could give me tips and sites where I could earn nicer income.

Hey! I'm also a work at home mom! The first jobs I had online were for academic writing sites. Later on, however, I had to look for other options when the writing tasks started to dwindle. I got active on odesk and since then, I haven't looked back. There are a lot of job openings on odesk and I'm sure you'll be able to find a job opportunity that would be right for you. It may be difficult at first when you're still trying to establish your work history and feedbacks. I would also advise you to start with a low rate and slowly work up. Just imagine, I only started getting active last July and I began with a rate of $2 per hour. Now, after only several months, I've upped my rate to $5 per hour. Now ain't that great?

I think you should consider another job if you believe that you are worth more than you are paid. Why settle for an online job just to supplement when you are not happy with the current situation. An online job may take some time to build up, so I suggest you settle the real world job first. When you are more settled, then look for the online one. You have a family to feed? If so, do consider the transition effects on them.

Think before you act. The job market is tough these days. Do not quit until you have another job lined up. There is no guarantee that the new job will be any less boring or demanding.

I think that you should stay with the job you have right now. You are right when you say that it is so hard to find a job these days. Good for you even that you lasted for fifteen years with what you do now. I am only in my 3rd week with my job and I think that it is time for me to let it go. There are just so many things that get in between. I think that it will not complicate so much because I am only 23 and I still do not have mouths to feed.
I think that as long as your job helps you do your responsibilities as a family man then you should go on with it.

Hello Jhaidro, yap, that's what I have to do... Just wait for the right opportunity. I will just console myself that at least I have a permanent job. But I'll still find a way to leave anyway, maybe I'll just look for small business which I could start.
