My boyfriend's grandmother just passed away either yesterday or the day before. I am having flowers delivered by a local flower shop to his parents. I am a little worried about if they will get to them. If they are not home when the flowers are to be delivered they can't leave the flowers outside because it is too cold outside right now. The flowers would probably die.
Has anybody had any bad experiences with having flowers delivered to anybody such as the quality of the flowers or whether they received them or not? What do they do if nobody is home?
Thanx.

Why don't you check if the parents are home? Tell them that you sent flowers. Express you condolences. That would make their mourning bearable.

Believe me, they are grieving and whatever you say would lighten their mournful hearts. So go and make the call. Besides, they would appreciate it very much to know that you care. Remember, even if you sent flowers, the gift without the giver is bare maxim holds. If they are your future in laws, start communicating sincerely now.

Don't worry about the flower because based on my experiences, in time like this, there are many people concerned like relatives and friends, I'm sure by now, there's a lot of them waiting for the remain, preparing for the house, if ever the burial is in their house. And, the flower delivered might not just leave outside for sure. Better make a call to lessen your worries, just be careful on whatever message you say because a moment like this, people are sensitive. Please accept my deepest condolences also.

You are right. They had a lot of things to do around the house. Family was flying in from Colorado so they had to try to make up some room for them to sleep. So they got, was really surprised and it made there day. The flowers were even more beautiful than in the picture.
