Hello myLotters...
As you know I work with a leading Airlines. One of our flights goes through Tokyo, Japan.. Right from the day of the unfortunate crisis, we have received plenty of calls requesting to cancel, re route their flights. These are not just requests! One feels it when one talks with the terrified people. Passengers are terrified to go through Japan and even if there is a transit for an hour in Tokyo, people don't want it... Terror stricken as they are and I would be too, they want to go through any other part of the world. Some of them, who aren't even flying over Japan but over Korea, are hesitating to fly... It is a horrible experience... Many of them prefer to fly over the Atlantic from the USA to Europe and Asia... One of the worst experience...
Do you think, it will be fine soon? What has the rest of the world got to learn from this??? Please share...

Yeah, if it wasn't safe to land in Tokyo, the planes wouldn't be landing there.

It really is a horrible situation. I hope that everything will be ok but it's almost impossible to know for sure at this stage. There's so many uncertainties right now with the condition of the planet and this just added to the problem in a big way. The possible nuclear meltdown more so then the natural disasters. I guess we just have to hope for the best. It's understandable that people are scared to go through there though. Honestly don't know if I would either =/.

Yeah same here. It's definitely not something to take lightly. But I believe they will come out stronger and be ok in the long run :).

I can definitely understand where the people are coming from they are afraid of the radiation. However, they won't be exposed to the radiation as much as the people LIVING in that area, and they need to take that into consideration. If my flight had to go through Japan I'd still take it, I mean what else can one do?
Ever since ancient history, there has been enormous tragedies that took thousands of lives in one given time. But when you truly stop to think about those times, society have picked up the pieces and rebuilt their lives and took measures to take care of the sick/wounded, as well as the causes of the disaster. And that's exactly what the Japanese gov't is going to do, they're going to take care of the reactors and they're already testing and treating people for radiation exposure.
I know I may sound flippant, but I don't mean to. I'd rather not worry so much of what could happen to me after a few minutes of exposure when others are exposed 24/7. I know, from ready history, that Japan will get back on their feet again. It might take a long time, but countries and organisations around the world are stepping in to help. So instead of being very afraid, put that energy into figuring out "What can I do to help Japan?", that would be a much better, and relaxed alternative.
Do I sincerely beleive Japan will survive and come back to normal once again? In due time, my answer would be yes.

Yes, Japan will rise again... NO doubt at all about it... They have done it once and they will do it again, successfully... I'll do my best, if I ever could, to do something for them...

The radiation scare is what really scares the people. But everything has a solution. It may be in a while though, but it will be solved in due time.
With the cooperation and help of all nations, Japan will again rise up. Let's just all pray for God's help.

Hi! I strongly believe Japan will be fine soon and everything will be back to normal. Knowing the Japanese, they are really disciplined, determined, and patriotic. They will not let themselves be down for long.
If only all people in all races is as disciplined, hardworking, patriotic, and cooperative as the Japanese people, this'll be a good place to live in. Look at them...all of them are victims but no one is taking advantage of his fellowman. Even if they have scarcity in food supply, they don't steal from unguarded stores. Plus, they help one another.
