the cousin of my wife died, from cancer. it was a very painful for all of us to see him fighting from pain and seeing him still fighting for life for his daughter who is just 4 years old. when he was still alive at the hospital during the doctor's round, he asked the doctor i will still live longer right? then the doctor asked how long do you like to live, and he answered as long as my daughter needs me. but after a few days he went to coma and died. the battle was over.... last night we were there at his wake and the wife said a few words... and this is waht i remembered... GOD saw you getting tired and a cure was not to be, so He put His arms around you and whispered "Come to Me". With tearful eyes we watch you, and saw you pass away, and though we love you dearly, we could not make you stay. A golden heart stopped beating, hard working hands were put to rest. GOD broke our hearts to remind us....... HE only takes the BEST. a very strong woman who stayed as his side till the last breath, and now continuing to be strong for their child. rest in peace bro, he is a big brother to all of us.

I love those words you shared with us. They're truly meaningful and so perfect for that moment. My heart goes out to you and my condolences as well. Losing someone you know or someone who has been a part of your life in any way is really painful. This reminds us that Life is Short and we always need to make the most of it. As long as you remember him, then he will always be with you all the days of your life.

there are a lot more nice and touching words friends and people put at the wall on his facebook. people who are abroad and friends who knew him on facebook left wonderful goodbye messages and quotes that are truly touching. there are also a lot of people who said something at the wake but of course it was very touching when it comes from the wife. thanks a lot for the response.

Condolence and so sorry for the lost of a dear brother. Let's just think that wherever he is now, there will be no more pains and he will happy with the good Lord. Though it really hurts that some we dearly loved leave us, it is better that he is up there and to him suffering her on earth. I'm praying that your cousin will be able to overcome the grief and wish that she and her child will be guided by the Lord.

thank you very much. that is what we all have in our minds and hearts. that there is no more pain and just peace. though we all know too that he does not like to die yet. he always says that again and again that he does not like to die yet. but i guess even he does not want to, his body gave up already. thank you for the prayers too and for the response as well.

I condole with you and your family, much more to the wife and the kid left behind.
If i were in that wake and heard of what the wife has to say, i would surely have cried a lot, because what she said are very true and so touching.
Who are we to question God about that? We are only borrowers of these lives of ours and anytime that He sees fit, He will call us. The least we could do when that happens is thank Him for lending us our lives and taking care of those we leave behind.

thank you for condoling with us. we have to thank God that he gave us our big bro (cousin) and he had a great part of the relative. he is someone that everyone look up too. if some of the relatives needed work he will try his best to ask around so he can find a job for that relative. so he is very kind and funny as well. we all bid our goodbyes for him last wednesday and we will all be praying for his peace. thanks a lot for the response too.

God gives the family strength specially the wife, to still go on for the child. to make sure that the child is always okay. we all pity the child for she is crying her heart out. poor child. but of course they both need to go on as the father is their guardian angel. thanks a lot for the response.

That`s so sad to hear. I`m sorry. :( My girlfriend experienced the same thing 2 months ago. Her ninang had cancer. One of the saddest things I had to hear. She called me, crying. That quote "God broke our hearts to remind us.... HE only takes the BEST." Wow. The funny thing is I told my girlfriend the same thing... It was a quote I heard from a friend. I told her "Sometimes... God takes the special people... because He wants him by his side." It was a very hard and stressful time in her life. And I`m glad I was there for her. So, yeah. I`m sure you can relate. I`m glad you were there for him too. At least there is no more suffering and they are with Him now. Take care of yourself and Godbless.

that is the time she needed you most and being there for her is a bog thing for her. she needs someone to cry on and to give her a hug and rub on her back. no need to say anything to your girl just being there is a big thing. we were all there for him since the start of the battle. he celebrated his 59th bday last year october and he said that it might be his last birthday so he told everybody should attend. it was a must! so now he is at peace, we are sad but somehow happy as well for the pain was over. thanks a lot for the response.

I am sorry to hear that. I've lost my grandparents and an aunt when I was a kid, so I didn't know how it feels to lose someone you love. But, after reading your discussion, I finally understand your feeling.
I just hope that things will be okay for your family. Be strong!
