Amy Lee's name change

Why did Amy Lee of Evanescense drop the "Lee" from her name so she is now only Amy? Her voice is weird and unique and her two names were kind of weird and unique but not she's just like most of the -American anyway- population, that's so boring! I guess her name change has not made her completely obscure; Price changed his name to "the Artist" and that never hurt him much (I don't think but I don't follow Prince that closely). Few people on the radio refer to Prince as "the Artist", they still call him Prince. He has not sold less records because of it, it's all good for him. Same with Amy Lee, radio announcers still call her Amy Lee -the ones I have heard anyway- and Evanescence records have not sold any less than usual. Maybe her name change is ok but it is not really used (no one says, "Amy is the singer for Evanescense", it's Amy Lee like it always has been) but what was the point then. I guess when Amy Lee changed her name to just Amy she got press for it and, like the saying goes, no press is bad press!

There are too many Amy's in the world and she is the only known Amy Lee, But it doesnt really matter since she is not a solo artist, she is still known as as "evanescence" yeah the casual people just call her as the band. What important to me is that she can make music again. Then she can make new songs that is so awesome it will make the casual audience forget about the existence of "Bring me to life" and "my immortal"
