Is anyone starting a garden this year? If so what are you planing to grow? I love having a garden every year. I think its the best vegetables and fruits you can get. Better then the store bought. If I get enough stuff from my garden I like canning it to save for when I need it. How about you?

Yes, I'm starting my own garden this year. Actually I can start anytime I want because I live in a tropical country so I don't have to be afraid of the frost . I've already planted a mango and sapodilla tree. The mango one seems to catch up new growth after one month of being dormant. The sapodilla tree is bearing fruits and I think it isn't going to end soon because the new fruit buds keep coming up . They're so sweet and a real treat!.
I want to start a cutting garden which flowers I can use for the house. I've already planted carnations, rose, chrysanthemums and have started some hollyhock seedlings.
I have ordered gladiolus corms online and they will arrive anytime now. I can't wait to plant them.

I have hollyhocks here but now that you've mentioned it I would love to grow carnations.

I am starting a garden this year. It's going to be a challenge for me because we sold our house last year and moved into a condo so anything that I grow will have to be on my patio and in containers. I'm definitely going to have a lettuce bowl and a couple of tomato plants but I think that I'm going to go to the local nursery for advice on what else I can grow. I would love to have a salsa barrel that would include a tomato plant, green onions and hot peppers. I can't wait to start! I've never canned anything but am anxious to give it a try this year.

Canning vegetables and fruits is so nice to do and can save you money through the winter. The salsa barrel sounds like it would be nice to have and grow. I think everybody in my family loves that stuff. My mother In-law makes it homemade to from her garden. Its so good.

I really don't have a garden but I consider my green backyard to be like one. Because it's filled with well-trimmed Bermuda grass which is very relaxing to the eye specially when stressed and took hours in front of computer. BTW, I found this blog really interesting when it comes to gardening and taking good care of your plants. I hope it can help you about your garden. http://www.thefarmatgreenvillage.com/blog
