Walking remains a good exercise from earlier times. I used to walk 2 hours daily. Recently some one said to me that walking can reduce cholesterol content in our blood. How far it is true? Do u have any knowledge about this one.

I used to walk for an hour twice a week. I do not know whether it's been true that walking helps in reducing the cholesterol but the scientists and researchers did. Somehow, I think that walking help me in mentally calm and makes me feel better every time I'm upset.

Hey dude, I do not agree with you. It doesn't mean that what you think better suit everyone. Listening to song will also make someone upset.

I think that walking can do a lot of things to contribute to your health but I think what reduces the cholesterol is that people who exercise also lead a healthy lifestyle. If you walk for an hour a day but eat fatty cholesterol laden food, you will still have a cholesterol problem. Walking helps you lose weight and typically as people lose weight, their cholesterol levels go down.

Definitely, Walking improves blood circulation, aid digestion and is a great cardiovascular exercise. It doesn't require a high level of fitness so old people and children can also do it. It helps to relax your mind and body

hello, I work to work everyday, and walk home every evening. I walk very fast, you could call it a power walk, and it takes me a half hour of solid walking, non stop to get to work, and the same back.. i only started doing this 2 months ago, and i've already lost a stone in weight. i'm not fat at all.. i'm a size 10 [uk] and only weighjed 10stone.. however i've very short so should be about 9 stone.. so now i'm my target weight. my dress size is the same, thankfully, as i'd hate to loose my chest and bum curves! haha.. but i've toned up. my appetite has increased, and yes, my cholesterol level has decreased! your burning the excess fat in your body, so when your body eats, it stores the fat that it needs, and you again in turn burn off the excess, it's the excess that causes higher cholesterol. however, some people, like myself, because i am very slim, actually have high cholesterol by nature, whether it be passed on from our parents, or just from the food we eat, even if our high metabolism burns off the weight.. walking keeps this at bay also :)

I think that there is a lot of truth to this. Some research would even suggest that the main reason why people have so many illness these days is because of lack of activity. Things are just so easy to do now. There are even things that machines are doing for our benefit. I am even thinking of doing some walking in my daily activity. I believe that for sure, it will help me become healthier.

Yes it does Walking is one of the best exercises that ANYONE can do and the best part is that it is free! Although you might want to invest in a pedometer because you should be getting around 10000 steps per day! That's roughly 5 miles. You also need to work up a bit of a sweat. Walking faster than 3.2 mph is a good goal!
