Middle east conflict....Leaders overstayed for sooo long

The conflicts in Libya, Syria, Omar, Bahrain is geared towards political crisis. The problem is that leaders like Gadaffi, Mubarack, and among others have been in power for a very long time and for some time now.
So why now?

Perhaps it's not much about the length of time they have stayed in power but the question is more about how they did use that power and who benefited from it?
