Is there proof in the bible that the true church is "THE HOLY CATHOLIC AND APOSTOLIC ROMAN CHURCH?"

This topic is very dear to my heart. I am Pentecostal, a born again Christian but I will NOT say that my church is "the best" church to go to. The church that is the true church is not a building at all, it is the body of God and people that gather together to worship Him and glorify Him. Every "religion" or "sect" or whatever can be what it wants but the basis to any church should be to praise God, doesn't matter where. There is no true church, just a true God.

I feel and I sense that there is supposed to be a one true church which is the one body with Christ as head. Historians state that it started in Jerusalem whose followers were called after Him, the Christians persecuted by the Roman Pagans and the Jews themselves.

No, there is none. The Roman Catholic Church was formed in the 11th Century when it split away from the Orthodox Church. The earliest Churches were the one in Jerusalem, headed by James the Just, brother of Jesus, the Coptic Church and the Celtic Church, all these founded by those who walked the earth at the same time as Jesus There is only one true Church and it consists exactly of those that truly accept Jesus all the best Urban

I have never seen anything being true except the Lord Himself! If you look in the book of Revelation, it talks about the 7 churches in Asia, which represents all churches throughout history! According to Revelation, all those churches needed to be corrected by the Lord. However as a body, the church is referred to in Acts chp. 2 and other places as a body of believers. The church in the book of Acts once called "the way". the name or title Christian at that time was a way of making fun of us believers and was not a true title! Christian comes from a body of believers that follow Jesus. It's dangerous for anyone or anything to exault ourselves above others no matter what they believe or where they believe it! The only one that should be exaulted should be Jesus Christ Himself and Him alone! No church, religion, body of believers of any kind. If the Catholic Church wants to fill the seats, start exaulting Jesus!

In the Bible it says that Jesus said to St.Peter, the head of the Apostles" Thou art Peter, and on this Rock I will build my Church" The name Peter or Petros in Greek means Rock. St Peter became the 1st pope of the Catholic Church. He also said to him that He would give him the keys of the kingdom of Heaven. Read it for yourself at Matthew 16:18&19

Hi toyota, At the time the Bible was written there was no Roman Catholic church. That didn't come about until several hundred years later. In new testament times there was just a number of people who believed that Jesus Christ was the son of God. These people called themselves saints but their enemies started calling them Christians. We are not meant to take the Bible literally as there are many mistakes and changes. Blessings.

there is no exact words in the bible that tell those things.. church is a place wherein you worship and praise God for what He has done and what He would do in your life.. anywhere can be a place of worship. you can worship Him at your room, in your bathroom, when you are walking.. anywhere,, God sees our innermost thoughts and innermost desires in our heart,,
