Yes it do affect our earning the higher your rating the better you earn i have seen some member who reach above 1000 post but still not earn 10$ because they might be scamming here
which would make many other mylotter to give them (-) which effect there rating
whenever you start a topic try to make it grow as you earn for that always replies to each comment in the discussion you start to earn from the discussion
try not to be rude here be good to other and other would be good to you

@Yogesh: you will see your star when your rating will be at (100).
@sajeevking: giving [-] affects also your own rating. It will drop if you give many [-], so be careful.

i don't often give negative rating i only do it when i see some one spamming here and there
i don't rate him negative if he had did it by mistakes or was unaware of rule i rate them (-) when i see that they have a habit of posting there links in many discussion
frankly till now i might have rated only around 10 (-) rating whereas i do rate many of them with (+) if they give us some valuable info
and thanks i was not aware that rating (-) also affects us
@topoffer (+) for you for teaching me something new

You are correct. It says in the FAQs that the Discussion Rating System is 'factored in' to the earnings algorithm. It also says in the Guidelines that we should not solicit for positive ratings, which is a clear indication that there is a connection between ratings and earnings.

Hi sir. I am member of mylot from 2 months. Now i logged in and saw the image of congratulation you have just won reward of worth 15 cents. I have got reward first time. I can't understand what i'll have to do to get 15 cents. You are senior than me and in mylot too. So i prefered to ask to you as you seems to be online instead of starting new discussion. Pls tell me

Yogesh, you currently earn rewards when you use the Search facility. Look at the 'Rewards' section in the FAQs. Rewards are randomly awarded and of random amounts. The highest I have seen so far was 20 cents.
Unlike payments for 'Participation', Rewards are added to your account instantly.

Yes, ratings do affect you earnings as it says in the guidelines like owlwings said. Most questions about mylot are there and you should reread them because posting about what is already mentioned in the guidelines can result in a delete post. Here is the link to read about most of what you need to know: http://www.mylot.com/o/topguidelines.aspx

Yogesh, I believe that people with a User Rating (the number in brackets after your name) of LESS than 100 are not eligible to rate. This was because, in the past, people have been banned and have come back (under a new account) to vent their fury on the people who they thought were responsible.

Yes friend its true if we hit plus button then that post gets rated. But i heard users having rating above than 100 are allowed to rate only. I just rated one post here and it showed rated but i releaded page and that post is still unrated. I think its mylot small bug. How can i reach minimum rate 100?

Yes,ratings can affect our earnings.Because if someone rates us negative,it will surely affect our earnings, that means our earnings will also decrease.Thats why it is always said that we should start discussion which is good in content quality and quantity, and so as in responses.

Hi Hanumant.
It does affect your earning, i just browsed some discussion with regard to star rating from our superior mylotter. You need to be active in mylot, post a discussion, replying quality answer, no harsh answer, posting a picture or do some task to get 100 target. When you get a star you still need to be careful to post a discussion as you the you will stay in same position.
