Until recently I thought I could not live without facebook. My computer needed a new charger and I was without my computer for a week. The first day I felt like I was going crazy. But then I picked up a good book, did some spring cleaning, called a few friends I hadn't spoke to in a while and watched movies with my children. Now I realize how much I was on Facebook and how much I was missing out on!

I come on social sites like this to get to talk to people, as i do not get to leave the house much, due to ill health.I think that there are alot of people out there like me that find sites that are like this plus other sites are away to keep in contact with the so called out side world.I do not use face book much as there are too many people on there that only go on there to stir up trouble for other people.

Up until about May of 2007 I managed to live without a computer. I went to the library so it was very limited access. I don't really like Facebook and I got rid of my MySpace page which just seems to be a waste of time spent decorating your page. Cheating is going to happen regardless of whether you do it online or in person. It is used to keep in touch with people so I'm sure it is handy for those who have loved ones that live far away since it's a way to keep in touch with them.

I could do with TV, phones, cell phones and computers, and certainly any social network sites. My son and I used to take a week off every year from all of these and it was heavenly.
I've read about people taking family vacations and everyone in their beach chairs is texting or talking on the phone. I've read about people taking camping trips and stopping to text along the hiking trail. That's so absurd.

I can definitely and absolutely live without facebook. My life used to be ok even if I was not a member of all these social networks so why would I worry if one day all of them would crashed.
There are advantages and disadvantages of being a member to these sites. Yes, it could be a cheating ground not only by wives and husbands but by all sorts of head games, relationships or even businesses. However, this depends upon the individual. If you want to cheat, that is your choice but others also found the missing link in their lives, either a loved one or a friend or even a business.
The point here is, we don't know what is out there that the WWW has to offer. When it hits us, it hits us hard, so we have a choice what to choose. But, while they are still here make the most out of it for the goodness of everybody including yourself.

Oh yes I can. I hardly go on line on facebook. Since I couldn't have time for it.
I barely have time for my kid much more going on line on facebook. Still once in a while, I check on it to see what's happening to my friends and relatives.

I think people may live without any social networking site or facebook. Because ever since there is no internet people do live without it...
You right, friend. Facebook seems to be a cheating ground for husband and wife. Because most of the ladies out there hide their real relationship...they don't tell whether they are married or not?

I can say I can live without it for a few days without Facebook but for the rest of my existence, I do not think so. The reason why I say this is because Facebook is a very convenient tool to get an update on what is happening to other peoples lives. It does not require you to ask the person personally how he or she feels but they generally just post what they want and that gives everybody an insight on how you are currently. But I can say I cannot live without it just because I look at it as a tool for me to be up to date with my friends lives.

I have a facebook account but it's not that active. I just use it to view posted pictures of my daughter and friends. But i don't post our pictures.
I find posting pictures to be somewhat bragging. So audacious to be posting them and having them commented. Narcissistic in a way.
But Mylot, i guess until i am old , i will still be with it.

hello mandytaylor, I admit that now, I can't live without these social network. It becomes one of my daily life. I have to say that it really helps me to develop relationships with my friends and family. Maybe there is some cheating ground on these network, but it relys on you to choose what you can believe or what you can't.

I could live without it, sure. I play the games. Most of my family is on, and we exchange pictures and keep in touch with it. Often, though, I think I spend too much time on FB.

I probably could do that if I was just away on Holiday for a week but I would soon feel the need to go back online. I certainly don't think I would go on other websites and just not open twitter or facebook.

I use to be highly addicted to facebook and about a year ago I completely lost my interest with facebook. I have the application on my phone and although updates come through I will ignore them.
I keep communication with anyone via email, phone and or text so I believe I can live without facebook and or any social networking site really. A year ago I did not think this way.

I could live without it, im not as addicted to facebook. But I wouldn't want to live without it. I like having it. I do visit a couple times a week, but i'm not on facebook hours after hours like most people who are addicted. I like telling people what's going on in my life, i like posting pictures, and seeing family and friends different pictures. So yes I can live without it, but I wouldn't want to.

I use Facebook often to contact family who lives in different states. If facebook and all other social networks were gone though I would be fine. I hear a lot about these sites being grounds for cheating just in general. That is an unfortunate thing. People have to be careful when it comes to these things and a lot of unnecessary time can be spent on these sites and also cause problems in relationships.
