I have this guy friend who is so needy to have girlfriend everytime he text me, he keeps on asking me to give him a girlfriend. He is so "hopelessly devoted" that it really annoys me because sometimes even if I'm at work so busy he will just text me asking if I can set him up on a date and send it a thousand times making sure I will reply. Have you guys know someone like that?

I'd suggest that you simply ignore him and redirect the discussion into a different topic. Do it as often as needed. Hehe.

I think he likes you. Maybe he is just using this "you have to set me up" thing to get to you. He may be too chicken to ask you out directly. If you like him then that's great but if you don't then that can be really creepy. Try setting him up with one of your friends so he will stop bothering you. You can always confront me to stop bothering you but that really depends. It's up to you. If it gets really annoying then confront him.

lol!!! honestly he courted me way back college days but I really dont like him I dont know why I cant even point out what are the stuff that I dont about like him I think thats also what other girls felt unto him. Its really creepy but I dont wanna be rude confronting him because I have a tendency to blab words that can really hurt so ill just keep my mouth shut

Tessa, i'm quite sure about your theory. It happens to me once too! :) i was friends with this guy and he asked me to give him a date. I had set him up with a friend. The night before their date he texted me that he'd be happier if i will be the one whom he will be dating with. Lol. Why not try to give him just one date to shut him up. If you can't arrange it with any of your friends, just tell him directly that it's starting to get annoying when he bothers you in the middle of everything just for him to tell you to give him a date. You do not happen to work for a dating service ayt? Lol. Hmmm... Think about tessa's theory. It might have some truth in it. Perhaps he has not waved the white flag on you yet. :)

Well, I guess from the above discussion we can conclude he likes you. So I am not going to delve on that further. Now if you do not wish for him to be your boyfriend and he keeps doing this to you, I believe on each mobile there is a barring call function that you can use, maybe just during your work hours so you will not get distracted. You can switch him on back after office so that at least you don't strain your friendship if you intend to keep it. It is good to tell him in advance so as to set the expectation.
The other "evil" way is to refer him to an dating agency. I am sure they will be more than happy to entertain him all day.

i have a friend who is a single mom, and she is annoyed by friends who keeps suggesting her to have a relationship with. she always say that she does not need anyone to give her a relationship for she can find one herself. in that case your friend should know better. that relationship can not be matched. maybe some works that way but you cant find love or relationship by asking it through others. specially now that you are annoyed the more you dont like to pair him with someone for they might find him annoying as well. har har har. welcome to the wonderful world of mylot.

What does he think you have "dating service" stamped on your forehead? I'm sure you have better things to do than be his social director.

I used to have a friend like that back in college. He would not only text me but call me also and worse of all he'd still nag me about a particular girl he wanted me to hook up wit him whenever we see each other, hallway, canteen, classroom or even in the street.
He wasn't bad looking but I didn't know why he was so insecure and would still be needing my help . I was pretty sure then that he can do it on his own.
The twist, he did not get the girl but instead he fell for me. He didn't get me, either.

i think it's you that the guy likes to have as a girlfriend.
He is just trying to catch your attention by asking for some referred girl friends but deep inside he seemed to like you.

Hmm, maybe she wants you to get jealous when he starts courting your referrals.

I know a few people who are like this. But the way I see it, I think that he is into you. He just keeps on sending messages to you to catch your attention. The main topic that he puts in his message is having a girlfriend through you but I doubt that. I think that the person he wants is you. I think things present themselves well in this situation. I really believe that every thing that he does is all about you.

it's really annoying, then why don't he find a girl on his own and not bother you to find him somebody? i don't get it, why would he needs a girlfriend, and ask you to d=set him up? does setting up can guarantee that he will love the one you set up for him? he's a looser, now i get it why he can't find one for himself, no chick ever wanted to love a looser

I already told him that but he said nobody likes him. I think no chik would want to be his girlfriend because he's too needy.

Oh definitely! They cant get a girlfriend/boyfriend themselves so they ask their friends to hook them up. If this guy is an adult, that`s pretty sad. Cmon bro, grow some cojones and just talk to a girl!

I do have a cousin who always asks if i do have girl friens who are still available for dating. I would always tell him that I will find out and put him off later but he bugged me for weeks about it. After being tired of it all, I confronted him and told me I cannot let him meet anyone if he himself does not have the guts to do it alone. I also told him to enjoy with his friends and maybe he could find what he has been looking for.

Hi. geekychik. Welcome to myLot! I have been around guys that would ask me or my friends to hook them up with so and so. They will also ask me if I have a sister or do I have friends that may have a sister or a brother that they could hook up with. It is annoying, especially when they constantly keep on asking. It is like they are very desperate to have someone in their lives to love. It can drive a person crazy! If this guy texts while you are at work, then you should not respond back at all, even when you get off of work.
