Hi emerson! Asking for help is a good way to start but it's better if you could come up with a topic by which a discussion could flourish orif you are having a hard time thinking of one, you can just lurk around, read on and find a topic which interest you. Start giving your comment and you'll get a hang of it little by little!
Happy mylotting! :)

There are countless topics here. You can respond to them and slowly get into the 'discussion' mode.

As advised above, just respond to any discussions that interest you. We earn here for participation, so it doesn't matter whether you start discussions or respond to them or comment on responses: you earn for nearly everything YOU type.
Notice that I say NEARLY everything! You will NOT earn for anything that is deleted - so it is ESSENTIAL to have read the Guidelines - and you will earn very little, if anything, for responses or comments of just a few words. Make sure that you are descriptive, relevant, helpful and polite. If you don't have anything useful to say, then find a discussion which interests you more!
When you start a discussion, make sure that the topic is one which is likely to get good quality responses which you can comment back to in the same way. Don't just thank people for responding! You will earn very little for a discussion if you don't MAKE it a discussion by replying.
Take time to read the FAQs: http://www.mylot.com/o/faq.aspx AND the Guidelines: http://www.mylot.com/o/guidelines.aspx
The FAQs have ALL the answers to most of the questions you ask and the Guidelines will tell you what is good and what is not allowed here. If you don't follow the Guidelines, you will inevitably have posts deleted - and you won't earn anything for those.
