I swear, those cats were going to FIND a way to get us up today!

They were growling in the kitchen earlier. They came in and were growling in my bedroom. They finally went into the roomie's room and pissed off the really loud one! Knocked over her trash can and tried to pull down her new lamp (snagged the cut out scrapbook page I put in to dress up the shade.) Only got us up 10 minutes early, but DA-YEM! The roomie is thinking of throwing the lot out tonight so she can sleep! (I'm thinking Mo, the loud one, needs to go into the office like Diva, the really loud one!) Do your pets keep you up at night?

Only occasionally, when she thinks it's 7 A.M., therefore time for her daily treat! But then, I don't have 40-leven cats & who-knows-how-many dawgs to keep me up all night, either! Sweet dreams! oh and: English doesn't borrow from other languages. It follows other languages down dark alleys, knocks them over and goes through their pockets for loose grammar.

Love that comment, Elic. Always have! Who was it said it...do you know? I'm swiping it for my quotes collection! Maggiepie "English doesn't borrow from other languages. Sometimes they do, but haha snicker, because R is camped out in the master bedroom, and Tiger is in there too (peeing problem - but not in there), if there's no food down for him, he will walk all over R all night to get some.

Wow, sounds like gang busters, haha! Sorry to hear you were up all night but in a way, I'm glad to read the responses that say they have this noise and racket too. I just adopted a cat about 2 weeks ago and her name is Rissa. She is only 9 months old but is throwing me for a loop. My other cats were actually quiet, didn't talk much, and even slept most of the time I was sleeping. Kash was extremely quiet and just slept with me until morning. This one is a wild child, lol! She talks all night and runs around like a little demon most of the time. She really is adorable but it's something I'm not use to in the least. I haven't slept a normal night now for these two weeks. She even pounces on me and then nuzzles my nose and cheek. I didn't realize there were so many noisy cats and I sure hope she calms down some.

it wasn't all night, it started around 6 a.m. tho, I think... Rissa is still a baby, but if she's talking, she's probably got some Siamese in her, what does the baby look like? Cats are normally nocturnal so they have to learn to settle down at night - my advice, try your best to tire her out before you go to bed...

Hi Elic, I put a picture of Rissa on Facebook for you to see. She's black with gray and a long coat. She doesn't look anything like a Siamese but she sure does talk or whine alot. I hope she eventually gets tired of hearing herself, haha. She's getting a bit better at night but it's more towards early morning when all the playing begins. Just like you mentioned with your cats, early morning. I have trouble sleeping anyways so by the early morning I'm all tuckered out and she's ready to run and play. I do try to tire her out before bed and that works pretty good, thanks for the advice. I guess I'll just have to get use to it until she gets a bit older..she's just full of pi$$ and vinegar right now, lol! But I do love her to bits. She's very affectionate and loves to snuggle (when I can get her to calm down that is). I'll try to get some more pictures of her but I still have trouble downloading them on myLot. I tried everything.

My dogs don't keep me up but Gus interrupts my sleep. About 3-4AM he goes outside and then comes back to bed--but he wakes me up to lift the covers so he can come under with his COLD feet!

I guess I'm just not fond enough of dogs to sleep with them now, take up too much of the bed, I can fit a couple of big cats where even the smallest dog would be...

No, Sleepy does not keep me up at nigh t. I just close the bedroom door. He can sit out there and meow all night, but it doesn't wake me up. Sometimes he awakens my husband, though. He has a rather soft voice. The only time he gets loud is when I step on his tail.

Daisy - and the roomie's Tardis hub
Daisy normally has a sweet little voice, but one night she got upset being locked in the bathroom and actually meowed loud enough to wake me up!

Sometimes for no reason, our cat will go wild in the middle of the night, tear up the garbage in the kitchen, run laps around the apartment, and then jump right into the middle of our bed, spin in tight circles, and then try to build a nest in the duvet. Unfortunately, by the time he's nice and settled, we're wide awake!

well, our cats don't spin, but I've certainly gotten a few scratches from being part of the "race track"!

Roxy usually sleeps with me and she gets in behind and WRIGGLES!. She pummels my back with her paws or she gets back to back and squirms and carries on having a lovely time, then she snuggles up really close...to such an extent that if I want to turn over I have to try and reach underneath her and that means contortioning my arm. She is deeply asleep and will not move for me. Next time I wake up, she is back behind me. LOL. I was trying to snooze yesterday afternoon and there was a thunderstorm right above us. I let Lucy in cos she is a scaredy dog with loud noises. She jumped up on the bed with Roxy and I, then Banjo came along and they all wanted to play. And they were being very cheeky and very rough. Lucy at 22kg is quite heavy and she was jumping on and off the bed...or should I say on and off ME. Roxy thought that was great so climbed up and sat on my shoulder. I'm taking no interest and trying to watch a miovie on my portable DVD next to my bed. Eventually, Lucy decided it was close enough to dinner time so I fed her and Roxy and the three of them went outside. Ahhh! Bliss. Peace at last.

No, I'd say having Harmony in bed with me at night helps me sleep. And if she's snuggled up against me when I wake up, I really don't want to get out of bed... Though, sometimes, she can be a pest and start scratching at the furniture if she thinks I really should get up and tend to her needs.

Yessssss they sure do! It's not all the time though but sometimes we'll hear them have a few choice words with each other. Hubby can make a pssst sound really loud that they scramble and I have a spray can that just blows out a bunch of air and that'll make them scramble and leave one another alone. One has to be the dominate one and some of the others want the title but we want none of that so we give them that one psssst sound and no one becomes the dominate one! At least not on that particular night! lol

It gets to be annoying, last night I had to break up another one, but at least it never progressed as far as some and when I yelled to "KNOCK IT OFF" they did!

Oh yes and I only sleep with one! I used to have both of them in the room with me until Hewy smashed ornaments and continually meowed at the door! He has his own room now...Rosie is still with me and manages to wake me by licking my face or lying on my pillow right next to my head purring very loudly! Gotta love em!

Well, we locked Mo up in office last night and someone was STILL growling, all be it softly, in the kitchen at one point - I think it was Zhaan. But THIS morning, after going to bed about 10:30, Scamp was poking me in the face and Ping laid on the pillow so that he was mostly on the face. "Come on MOM, You've been ASLEEP forEVer!"

Mine don't keep me up at night, but if I wanted to take a nap..well...that is another story. In the mornings when my alarm clock goes off..the babies like to help get me up. They are ready to go out.

well, mine will "help" me go to sleep at night and for a nap, but its the doing stuff in the middle of the night or early morning that wakes me/us up that's annoying!

Our doggies stay quiet for the most part. they do wake us up sometimes but that is only occationly. they do like to bark at anything that moves outside in the yard, espicaly the smallest dogie.

we have a nice big yard and we aren't that big dog fans, so they stay outside - besides, my little dog, Cujo, had never been inside a house before he came to me at 5 and that WASN'T my fault.

we keep the dogs inside at night because of their barking and howling (my little dog howls at sirens, even if WE can't hear them!)

our dogies say inside unless we walk them. unless we take them to the vet or to place for a bath.

When I first brought my cats home, they would be up meowing all night. However, if I let them into the room, they were even worse - wrestling, jumping on top of me and smothering my face all night long. A friend said you have to wear them out during the day, by letting them run around outside (mine are indoor cats but can go out on the screened porch) with all their toys, playing games with them, and just making sure they weren't being too lazy during the day. My cats especially like the laser light we got them as they'll chase anything that moves. They have since gotten much better with the passing months (they are almost ten months old now). One of them would sleep the whole night long if the other didn't come and pounce on her and get her all stirred up, but even he has begun to settle down come nighttime. I wake up in the morning and come downstairs to find them all curled up in their beds, ready for fun!

ahh, that's good, my kitten, Sparky, comes in for loving after I go to bed, but goes away after that He's pushing 8 months now and acts more feral than he did when he came, but still not as feral as the "Three E's"

Do I ever know what you mean! My 5 little stinkers love to run up and down our long hallway but somehow they love it the most at around 2 am. Then when THEY think it's time for us to get up and feed them nothing is going to keep them from their mission. They all meow like crazy, especially Lipsy, the loudest and most persistent one. Lipsy will get up in bed wit me and start licking my nose, INSIDE my nostrils, and Flicka just licks the rest of my face and neck, adding a little "love bite" now and again if I don't respond. Meanwhile, Bella, Moshie and Squirt just meow, non-stop. My husband is always threatening to keep them all awake all day since they keep us awake at night but so far he hasn't managed to do it. When cats want to take a nap, they'll find a place to take a nap. Annie
