Lately, I have been attending lots of weddings usually of friends and a few relatives. For the past couple of years or so, I noticed that chocolate fountains are becoming quite a fashion that they are always present on wedding receptions. I find it very appealing and quite romantic and I think that the chocolate fountain adds a little sweetness to the romantic occasion. I love to look at it and have my favorite fruits, mallows and biscuits coated with chocolate dripping from the chocolate fountain.

I actually have not seen them in any of the wedding receptions I have been to, but I did see it on the cruise ship we were on last year. It was so much fun and very romantic actually.
Although I am not much of a chocolate fan, I must admit that I was very intrigued by the chocolate fountain that I stood beside it and dipped galore. It was so much fun to dip and soak the many fruits and marshmallows into the chocolate.
I especially enjoyed this one because it was beautifully lighted and with the cabin being dimmed it was a nice added touch.

That is so cool. Cruise ships are already romantic in every sense and seeing a chocolate fountain in it would be totally awesome. The first time I saw a chocolate fountain was on one of the featured celebrity weddings here in our country and theirs was totally big. It was like one of their main attraction to their wedding reception. Then since last year, most of the weddings I've been attending to have them on their receptions and I just loved dipping almost anything on the table just to see how they tasted with chocolates. Fruits, biscuits and marshmallows are the best.

The special lighting sounds like it would just top the whole experience off. I would love to take a cruise.

I was at a party with one once, but I know for sure that if I were at a formal occasion and had a chocolate fountain I would be wearing chocolate. Especially if I were the bride. It is inevitable. They are fun, though, and yummy. I am just a klutz.

LOL GG this was my first time and although I am not such a chocolate fan, you should have seen me dripping over the table. In fact my boyfriend had to keep wiping the chocolate off because it looked like I had a chocolate
mustache.

That is so funny hardworkinggurl. Just last Saturday, I attended my friend's wedding and enjoyed the chocolate fountain. While I was about to take a bite of the chocolate-coated biscuit, one of the biscuit sticks fell on the floor. Good thing though the chocolate didn't ruin my dress or my shoes.

The fondue, I believe, is French in origin. My daughter was really crazy about it when she attended her JS Prom four years ago, and then on every debut that she attended after that. I was a bit puzzled by the pineapple-chocolate combination because that is a sure shot for stomach trouble, but hey, people are loving it, and no one's running to the restroom at tugtugs (dance) time. The mallows look delightful, and the crinkles colorful. Love it! Indeed, sweet and romantic.

I have two daughters, and for two consecutive years, I did bring them, and later fetched them, to several debuts. Crazy time. I did set a ten kilometer radius for debut venues. Farther than that, I told my daughters to give a no to the RSVP. For two years, I heard about all kinds of fondue preparations instead of the menu on the main meal. Sigh! I think the young people enjoyed more the flowing chocolate fountain while talking, dancing, and what not...

Hi there! Thanks for the comments. I just researched what fondue is and realized that it is the proper term for the so-called chocolate fountain and French in origin. Thanks for the info. The fondue can also be seen on big birthday parties and they are sort of a trend as well on debuts, not only on weddings. I haven't been to any debut lately but I've seen pictures with fondue on their parties.

Hi,
I am not a fans of chocolate and I would say
I don't really like to eat chocolate, maybe because it taste
too sweet for me. Since I was young, I don't really eat chocolate,
only once a while.
So far, in my country, there is not trendy on having chocolate
fountain in the wedding dinner. At to what I saw before, only
those hotel buffets will have this chocolate fountain.
I remembered there was once I was at Marriot Hotel buffet and I
saw this chocolate fountain, but I never tried it out
because I just don't like to eat chocolate.

I think it usually comes with the package and if the wedding reception is to be catered or held at a hotel's ballroom or reception area, they usually serve chocolate fountain. You're one pretty rare person to not like chocolates. In my case, I can't resist the temptation of eating chocolates.

Isn't it romantic to have chocolate fountains on your wedding day. It's like it's telling us that the couple is overflowing with love and sweetness. I really find it so romantic. Nice to know that you like biscuits coated with the chocolate drippings of the choco fountain.

We went to our friends wedding yesterday and they had a chocolate fountain too. I like them but it's not too good when my small child wears a white shirt to the wedding and wants to eat strawberries dipped in chocolate. lol Another wedding I went to last year had a chocolate fountain too. I think they are nice to have at weddings but I think they get a little messy when kids are there dipping stuff in it.

I agree that the chocolate fountain can be a little messy for kids, even for some careless adults. Still, it would be really good on weddings and it would be great if someone could make sure that the kids are not putting too much chocolate and dipping too much as well.

Hi cream97! Chocolate fountains are like water fountains but smaller in structure of course. So many variety of food can be coated with chocolate such as fruits like strawberries, grapes and bananas and some biscuits and even marshmallows. Usually, we are given short sticks where we stick whatever fruit you want and just let it catch the dripping chocolate from the chocolate fondue.

Yup! I usually see it on wedding receptions lately. It's actually a good idea. I am a chocolate lover and I really craved for the chocolate coated marshmallows and fruits.

I think it could go either way. I probably went to only 3 weddings that had chocolate fountains during the reception. One of the wedding that I went to was a garden wedding. The wedding was really fun. It was very bright and cheerful. It was not fussy at all. The chocolate fountain worked great at the wedding. The other wedding that I went to that also had a chocolate fountain was not as good. The chocolate fountain just looked cheesy. It almost seemed pretentious. I think it would really depend on the location and the theme of the wedding.

Good point. I quite agree with you. I think the chocolate fountain should go with the theme and arrangement of the whole setting. It shouldn't look pretentious rather it should capture the eyes of the guests in a cool way, adding the ambiance of romance with its presence.

It might be kinda messy for kids but the last time I attended a wedding, there were lots of kids around the fountain. It was good that one of the caterers were there to assist the kids if adults were not around. I felt like a kid getting so excited with the chocolate fondue. It was fun.

A good question! Hahah. But I think their focus were more with the children especially since they have more the tendency to make a mess.

So true! It's now a trend. Chocolate as an aphrodisiac...hmmm.. cool... Now it makes me wonder, what could be the next trend on weddings after 10 years or so.
