Hello all,
Going to go with the family fishing soon for trout, and I was wondering if anyone had any good pointers on retrieve methods for lures for trout, and what the best kind of lures for that would be. I will not be using a fly rod. Will be using a bait caster and whatever lures anyone may recommend that they have had luck with.
Thanks all and happy fishing

For bait- corn is the ultimate choice( close behind it is cheese)- some places have banned the use of corn. Sometimes- it can get a little boring when you use corn too- because the challenge is sort of gone... I've even hooked a huge rainbow using a cheesy as bait(it floated up just off the bottom(with the line weight holding the rest down)- hard to get on a hook though.
For lures, I've always had good luck using little blue fox spinners(for rainbow trout only- I should add)- in our local trout pond. I've seen some people having good luck using little mosquito fly hooks, with a bopper.
For me though- I like using the spinners- much funner in my opinion.
