There are a lot of rumors that dutch international and inter milan footie Wesley Benjamin Sneijder has been linked with united recently.I think he would make a great replacement for scholes in the midfield and increase the attacking force of united.
It seems that Sir Alex is about to go on a shopping spree because there are at more than 7 player who have been linked to united ....

He would be a quality signing but ultimately it's a rumour and many rumours never come to surface although I hope this one does . I was annoyed at Fergie for nit signing Van Der Vaart last summer now that would have been a quality signing . I highly doubt Fergie will go on a spending spree United are always going to be linked to a number of players it just comes with their high profile reputation just like at any other top club.
I think Fergie will try and sign a two or three players which he has targeted and if he fails to get his targets then he'll refuse to settle for another, so unfortunately I could see signing no one except a keeper. Also if Scholes does retire he may just give the youth players a year to prove their worth .

@stevieboi19: I hope this one goes through as well...Sir Alex has been struggling to find the replacement of Scholes if he does retire, and for that reason I believe he should land one or two midfielders in this summer transfer window to strengthen his squad...I heard that he is ready to increase his bid for de Gea, so I hope if Inter refuses his offer he is willing to throw in more money to bring Sneijder to Old Trafford as well...He will certainly increase the threat of United on all fronts next season if he is ready put the pen to paper...

I don't see it happening also has Fergie really been struggling to find a replacement though? I don't think he has, he's got youngsters in who can try and prove their worth with more opportunities. Maybe he will splash out but I can honestly see him entrusting the youth players for a year or two to allow them to prove themselves worthy of the role .
You heard that he's ready to increase his bid for De Gea? It's just a rumour for the first bid never mind a second increased bid. Rumours are hard to believe and unless it comes from Fergies own mouth then I wouldn't put any trust in it. I certainly hope the rumour isn't true as well I think Fergie needs an experienced keeper to replace Van Der Sar and I can't see him splashing out to much money on one either. It's be someone more unexpected than De Gea, Lloris etc I believe anyway. I think the perfect replacement for Van Der Sar would be Shay Given but Fergies got little chance of signing him from Manchester City though unless the player pushes for a transfer .

If it is true, then it is a very good addition to United...Sir Alex Ferguson has been struggling to find a good pair in central midfield for years after the disastrous injury of Owen Hargreaves and the aging of Paul Scholes...If he is going to throw in big money into the transfer market, then I think he should concentrate more on bringing some new central and defensive midfielders...And I believe he is thinking the same way, looking at the list of player speculated with United...Sneijder, de Rossi of AS Roma, and Charlie Adam of Blackpool will be an enormous addition to the attacking force if either one of the transfer speculation goes through...
Nevertheless, I wish to see Sneijder in red next season...I hope it is not just speculation and Sneijder really become a Red Devils...
Glory glory Man United!
