Do you do anything special to treat yourself every now and then?

life can be very hectic at times. We can get caught up in working, the daily grind of living, taking care of our family, chores and things like these. Do you do anything special to treat yourself every now and then? With finances tight sometimes it's hard to be able to do much but what do you do for yourself. Or if someone does something nice for you what do they buy you or take you. I like to get my nails done, it doesn't happen very often but I enjoy it. Or I try to change my hair style something that makes me feel good.

What I do to reward my self is to buy food that I enjoy when I was younger but I still end up with my intinct to provide for my family even if it's already time to reward myself, so I end up buying family pizza instead of solo or a gallon of ice cream so everyone can get to taste it instead of a cone, I've given up rewarding myself because I always end up wanting to share it with everyone especially my family. The real only reward I buy for myself is for my hobby which is coin collecting hahaha can be quite expensive sometimes so I rarely do it

Thank you for those encouraging words, oh yeah as for your old currency, I suggest you do an inventory of what you have, I mean jot down dates and denominations then try making a search of your pieces, also compare how much it sells in sites like ebay and from there you will have an idea, pm me too if that is ok if you already finish your inventory, good luck

I agree it is easy to just get things for the family. We love our family and it is a very natural thing to want them to have treats just as well. I think we tend to feel guilty if they don't get these things. I know when I go out with friends to a nice restaurant I make plans to go with my husband because I want him to be able to go and enjoy what I did.

If I can spare the money, I may buy myself something that I have been wanting for a long time, like a new CD, or some new dancewear, or a book or one of the various accessories, memorabilia items or other do dads that I collect. If I don't feel like spending money, then I may go for a walk through the neighborhood (it's very scenic) and spend the night watching a movie or show. That's about all I can think of. I don't treat myself very often, come to think of it!

I agree buying ourselves things that we like or want is always fun. My problem is there always seems to be something I want to get. So I've been working on that lately. Otherwise I'm going to be broke all the time. I have an amazon wishlist that is crazy. I love to shop more online. I love to get things in the mail. It's so awesome. I hope that you are able to treat yourself a little more now.

Once a week, if I have the time and if the weather is favoracle, I take myself to a nice restaurant where a buffet is served, lunch or dinner. I don't cook meals at home at all. So, it is always very enjoyable to have a nice delicious buffet lunch or dinner once in a while.

I agree eating out is fun. We like to go out to the chinese buffets they are awesome. We also get good deals because it's only around thirteen dollars on saturday. I absolutely love it. So out of curiosity who cooks in your home. My husband enjoys cooking so that is great for me. It really helps out a lot since I do everything else. I still cook though I like cooking new things. I don't like to cook the same thing over and over again. That gets boring for me.

Yes and here finances are tight too but once in a while I will get my hair done or buy a new shirt or pair of shoes or jeans or just something small, and here it doesn't happen a lot either but it is nice when we can everyone should do this once in awhile, it is a nice thing.

I agree it's not always eay to do these things but we've got to be reasonable and do it once in awhile. I know my husband and I will need to go shopping here shortly. We don't go shoping for clothes very often but it is diffinitely time. :)

I usually treat myself to a good manicure and pedicure once in a while with a friend or two. Sometimes I go out of my way to go to places for the day just to make my life a little more interesting. But if not, the usual watching a movie and eating out with a few friends are my thing. I have fun hanging out and just chatting with friends more than buying myself something expensive or what not.

I agree doing a manicure and or pedicure is fun and enjoyable. I also love to spend time with my friends. It's always more enjoyable to have friends along with us. Talking with our friends helps in so many ways.

The activities that you mentioned are enjoyable. As parents we do a lot for our family and children because we love them dearly. It is a good thing for us to take time out for ourselves. It shows love for our family and ourselves as well. Showing that we do care about ourselves and how others view us.

It depends on my mood but my favorite thing to do is to treat myself to Gelato (Italian ice cream). It is so good and while it has more sugar than regular ice cream the taste is soo much better and creamier. We have a new place not far from me called Il Gelato and its fantastic. If I am not hungry or in one of my rare health kicks I will treat myself to a movie if there is one I want to see. (Thats this weekend - Source Code looks amazing!!!!)

I personally have never had Gelato but it sounds delicious. I will have to put that on my list of things to try. Perhaps I will have to search around to see if I can find some. Movies are great, it is sad though how expensive they are becoming. So did you enjoy source code?

every now and then yes, and i think we all deserve it. i don't splurge all my money on it though, i just do something that i know i can afford..i like getting my nails done and getting foot massage or foot spa. i don't go to an overly expensive parlor though. sometimes i choose to treat myself to a nice meal in a nice restaurant...

I think the things you do to treat yourself are reasonable rewards. You don't break the bank and yet you are still able to enjoy yourself. I as well love to get my nails done. I was hoping to be able to get a fill in this month but looks like the finances isn't going to allow it. They were nice while it lasted though.:)

after working hard, it always feel great to treat yourself, it does not need to be expensive, what's important is you enjoy what you do. for me, i like to go someplace i'd never been before to relax.

That's a neat thing to do. I guess I never really thought of going somewhere I never been before. I will need to impliment this idea. It sounds like fun.

I just responded to a similar discussion. I'm really easy.
I just take a couple of hours where I try not to think about anybody else. And all of the responsibilities that I have. Sometimes I would wander in the mall, or take a long drive. Most of the time I end up in burger joint and treat myself with a very big unhealthy burger!

What I do is I spend time alone away from the crowd since they are the ones usually making me feel tired. Or spend the weekends with my family. When I am away from things making me feel tired, I don't feel boxed in with my life. Like someone young, I still hope that I will be able to make changes in those routine like life is long, or like life is short and that hope is still not exhausted.
You know, sometimes it seems like we just like work to live. Like me, I work just to earn, I do not dislike work, but I cannot really like many people. So I am just working with them just for the money.
I don't know if other workplaces here in my country are the same. But I hate the culture, especially the bad side.
