In a month's time, I'll be a bridesmaid at a friend's wedding, and in two months, I'll be a maid of honor to another. From my pictures lately, I can tell that I need to lose weight. I want to look good on those days, for me, and for my friends. So, I'm eating right - more fruits and vegetables, chicken and fish, wheat bread, and no more rice, less sugar, etc. Yesterday morning, I geared up and ran (nah, just two rounds and the rest was really just walking ). This morning, I did that, too (three rounds running, this time ). I feel lighter already! What are the things that you do to get ready for those kinds of occasion? Do you have any more suggestions of things that I could do? TIA!

That's a good start! You can also try doing the Zumba fitness. It's a type of workout that you will truly enjoy specially when you love dancing. It's not the usual workouts they do in a gym. Zumba is very light and very enjoyable. It will really make you sweat a lot. It balances the work out of your whole body just by dancing. Like me, I do Zumba everyday. Last week, I lost 3 kilos and I'm starting to see my abs forming on my stomach. If you have time, you can also try it.

I'll try to research on it. And, to see how I could get a copy here in my country. Going to the gym is out of the question for me, so I guess I have to make do with buying a CD and doing it at home. If it's a dance exercise, I'm having a feeling that I'll enjoy it! Thanks, you both!

Wow! 3 kilos! I gotta know this Zumba! Does that mean I have to enrol at a gym? Or can I do it at home?

There are some gyms here in our country that is offering Zumba classes. But you can do it at home. You can just buy their CD's. There are CD's on sale for the Zumba dance fitness. You can even choose wlegs or hat specific area of your body you are working on. For example, your abs. Or you can search it on You Tube. There are some Zumba clips there but it's not the full dance version.

You are definitely doing all the right things. I would add to drink plenty of water. I too am very disciplined and exercise routinely and eat a very healthy diet. Best of luck and you will look gorgeous on the big day!

I do have a friend who started cutting down on her food intake and go jogging almost every morning 'cause she was also going to attend a wedding this end of March and on May. I think that with your daily routine of running every day and eating the right food will surely help you. Drink more fruit juices, the natural one and avoid junk food. Tea can also help you reduce weight and get at least 8 hours of sleep every day.

Yes, I do drink tea, too. And will try the fruit juices. Sad, though, because I don't often get a full 8 hour sleep. I will try, though. Will manage my activities so I could sleep well.

Apart from all of these, see to it that you get ample rest. Don't let all this get you tired and drained out. Wishing you all the very best to look great on the big day

You're both right. I will try to get ample rest while doing all these activities. It's just sad, though, that I'm not getting enough sleep - so many things to do, so little time. I guess I would have to learn to manage my day well, too.

Rest is absolutely a great part of slimming, dieting and exercising. No point in looking great and feeling so run down one can't enjoy themselves.

I suggest that you should keep your plan continuously and keeping it in a long time. You're doing very well and you'll get the good result.

Hi there Gloryacam! Good luck! It's always nice when you have motivations like that to eat healthy and to exercise. It's much easier to feel inspired and motivated when you have some important event coming up. I remember how when I was my cousin's maid of honor for her wedding, even went to the gym regularly to work out. It's also nice that you have started already. Exercise really doesn't just make you lose weight but it, indeed, makes us feel good.

It does make you feel good! This week, I don't feel sluggish at the office anymore. I just hope I maintain the habit even after the weddings. It's always an honor to be a maid of honor or a bridesmaid, and I'll do everything I can to make my bride-friends happy!
