Business planning....help???!!!!

I have friends who are good in baking cakes and pastries and other are good in decorating.. I could say I love cooking .. So i suggested to them to be in the catering services.... but i don't have much any idea of it... We are brainstorming on the menu list and prices; starting capital; and things to do....help help! Thank's to mylot. I think I can learn many things here.. My dear mylotters help us in our business plan...

The first step I would do would be to ask around to your family and friends to make sure that they think this is something you will do well in, and also see if anyone has any thing coming up that they would be needing catering for. As for pricing your items, I would look around your area and see what others are charging for simialar items and from there, set your prices. I say that not so you can charge what they are charging but so you can see what the average is and then try to stay in that range. If you go to far over, you will not get any new customers. The most important thing is to get your name out there and start doing small events. Good luck!!

Thank you for such a good advice. I think you put me in the door of catering.. Cooking is one of my hobbies that I would like to enrich more.

Awesome! I am glad I could be of some help. And if it is something you love doing, I say go for it!! I have always said if you enjoy your work, then you will never have to work (or at least it wont feel that way!) Good luck in your future business!!
