Horrible nightmares kept me awake most of the night.

I'm not one to have nightmares often, and when I do, they never keep me awake, but these ones did.
I can't make sense of them either.
The first one I had was about my husband and I. It was night time, we lived in a condo and were sleeping. Suddenly I wake up to find a man in our bedroom, creeping towards me.
He attacks me and tries to rape me. My husband wakes up and we both fight this guy off, and he runs off.
It looked like we left the balcony door unlocked and he climbed up somehow and came in.
If that wasn't freaky enough, the next one I had was far worse.
A man and a woman fight their way into our house from the back entrance in order not to be seen by neighbors. The man is ranting and raving about how we were supposed to die for doing something we'd never done.
They sit us in the living room, start talking garbage about something I know nothing about. I'm confused and scared.
The guy then takes my husband into the kitchen telling him that he's going to kill him.
For some reason, the woman lets me go outside and sit on the front stairs. I guess she knew that I wasn't going to run away from her.
A neighbors son comes out, playing with his phone, about to water the garden. I tell him to call 911 because these crazy people are trying to murder us. He gives me a blank look, then I remember that he doesn't speak English.
His father comes out, and they start talking. They both glance up at the house several times, the woman is hovering behind the front door and they see her there.
I don't know it at the time, but they're talking about this, and they seem to know something isn't right at my house.
The woman comes out and tells me that it's my turn. I have to watch some sort of video and then I'll be murdered too.
I get into the kitchen and the guy tells me that my husband is just sedated, he wants us to die together, but I have to watch this video first.
A few minutes later, I see shadows reflecting behind me, and realize that there's someone at the back door.
Suddenly, the police barge in and arrest the couple for attempted murder. The neighbor had called for help thankfully, otherwise we wouldn't have survived.
He told me later, his son realized that something was wrong, he understood 911 and murder, and had told his father that while I was sitting outside.
These nightmares were so vivid, they seemed so real. I tossed and turned for hours after waking up from the second one, I don't know if I ever got back to sleep.
I'm going to try going back to bed, but this is enough to keep me awake until I forget these nightmares.

I don't think I would want to go to sleep after having those kinds of nightmares either. Could it be a warning of some kind? If they continue, you may want to discuss them with someone as there could be something about to happen, but not necessarily to you.

i was having alot of bad dreams a few months ago but was put on some meds to help me sleep and not had anymore bad dreams anymore
have you been reading or watching anything bad in papers or on the news? or watched any horror films that might have stuck in your mind? also is your husband away at the mo? cos if hes not there again you might have that playing on your mind before you went to bed about being alone in the house at night?
your mind takes in so many things you see and hear in the day so it could just be something that was playing on your mind before you went to bed
or i no this sounds silly but did you have any cheese before bed time cos i no when say i had a cheese sandwich before bed i tend to have bad dreams yea i no it sounds crazy but am just thinking about everything anything that might cause a bad dream!
hope you get some rest x

That would definitely keep me awake too! That is weird that you had two of them in one night. I hope you can nap today!
