i am from india,in here we can not kiss even our girl friends in public !! :( Its just a show of affection towards the other. But the old, religious and traditional people say that it spoils our culture so they do not allow it, unfortuntely they are the ones in power like political leaders. But this is so ridiculous to me cos i have grown watching many english flicks which displays even intense affection in public. I still cant figure out whether it will be allowed for next generation or not!!
Say your opinion guys!!

Is it mentioned in constitution that indians should not kiss in public? Well I am not sure about it. I think if you have the courage you can kiss. But because of the environment around, it compels you not to.
At kolkata there is a park called millinium park which is public. I saw lots and lots of couples kissing. So I don't think that you are not allowed to kiss but because you are in such a environment.

Let me just say, I'm not 70. I think this is a great thing. In the states, people are allowed to kiss in public. I don't mind a little affection in public. I'm truly tired of watch people with their tongue down the other person throat and they are fondling each other. I peck here and there isn't bad. But the makeout sessions need to stop. Best Wishes!

I know exactly what you were saying. I was merely giving you my opinion. If you are not going to like the responses you might receive, don't ask the question. That would be my suggestion. Best Wishes!

Even here in our country it is considered scandalous to be kissing your girlfriend in public. We are in Asia and that means we are a bit conservative when it comes to things like this. But I know that there are already many who are modernized and had been influenced by what they say in movies and television but these people see to it that they do it when the people around do not know them.

well it is all about culture since you have grown up watching many English flicks so you are saying like this but not all Indians have the same background like you so it becomes uneasy to see someone kissing in public for them. also as some of my friends here said that we have a rich culture and i feel he is right at it because it is all about culture and our culture is for sure rich than any other culture in the whole world.....it is like
LOVE INDIA OR LEAVE INDIA.....

Im not trying to be offensive but you sound very bigoted in saying that your culture is superior and that people who have different views on the society and social norms should either fit in or leave.Everybody is different and in my view should be able to do whatever they want as long as it dosent hurt anyone else and kissing in public doesn't hurt anyone.

Showing affection to another person does not have to be public. You can show your affection in a private place and moreover, kissing is not the only way. Each country has its own culture and tradition. Just because we have watched english movies and are impressed by them does not mean that we should forget where we are. I do not want to sound rude ranma. We do maintain a decent distance from our family members too and not only strangers or other people not so close to us. I am a south Indian too. I know what you are talking about. So, I find nothing wrong with what we have here in our country.
Each country has its own culture and tradition. I am sure there are other places and countries in this world as well which frown upon public display of affection. It is basic curtesy of not hurting the sentiments of other people and making them uncomfortable. And welcome to mylot.

How religion comes in KISSING IN PUBLIC? No religion stops you from showing love in public.

Surely not! Religion, culture are just used as an excuses to any answer. But above all its just a common sense, its similar to "not fight before kids, so it wont affect them mentally". Similar way, dont kiss at public as you may disturb the pshycology of other human which is quite natural and real fact.

I dont see anything wrong with kissing in public. It is something people do when they love each other. Groping each other is not appropriate but I think kissing should be allowed. So what happens if you are caught kissing someone in public do you get a fine?

Hi. ranma1. Welcome to myLot! I think that this is strange. I wonder if this has anything to do with a person abusing the privilege of kissing someone. Maybe they have kissed in front of a child or an old person and this has offended them. Maybe an adult thought that it was inappropriate to kiss in front of many people. In my country, I don't think that we have the same rules, if we did, I know that many people, including me, have broken them quite a few times too. My husband loves to kiss me in public on the lips. I don't like expressing my affection this way with people gazing at us like we are making out.

So you really do learn new things each and every day. I never knew this. But its really interesting. Every culture, as you know is clearly different. I hear you can't spit on the side walk in one country i think its Singapore, don't quote me though. And here in the stated, its I believe once a year you get to take your wife to the court house and literally beat her down. Its sad, but ture. I forgot which state allows that. So everybody is different, as you know, and we just have to cope with our environment.

India is the place of Culture and here it differs from other countries. Kissing in public place does not allow a girl to do so and if u have grown up by watching english flicks better you leave this country and settle to some australian country where nobody is going to ask you about kissing in public place..............

hello there ranma! i am amazed to know that kissing in public by lovers is not allowed there in india. During the spanish regime in the Philippines, it was not allowed too. The people were very critical about showing public affection. I think parents even scolded their teenage boys and girls just talking in the streets. i think that it was very disciplined of them and that is the reason why adults were very conervative and formal. If that is the law in your country, might as well follow it. I think you can kiss your girlfriend in a nice private area where no one can see you.

Well here in the US we don't really like seeing people kissing in public because some people just do it to show off which is really annoying like my friend she needs to get a room because I do not want to see that. Very lucky that they have that in your place very good rule because some people go overboard over here well those our only on some occasions. I hardly see that now a days, but when I do see that it's just very disturbing to me I think I just hate to see that because in high school. Me and my friends got tired of my one friend always making out with her boyfriend all through out lunch time and we just don't want to see that while we are eating.

I am from Romania and I would also want to have a law that not allows kissing in public. Coming from work I do not want to find at my parterre of my flat that some teenagers are kissing. Or on the public bus you can not take it any more from your busy work and some people start kissing. They do not hold with their hands the bar, and their hugging and kissing. The driver applied the brakes and they bumped real hard into me. I had made shopping. My eggs, a bottle of milk and some gars with tomato juice broken. they giggled and never said apologies. I was so angry. The people were looking at be because I made a mess in the bus. A person help me to made clean the floor and those two got off at the next bus stop. some people kiss like they are in the bedroom making love. Thats a private thing don't do it in the public its disgusting. Do it in your home, kiss all you want. Some just put out their tongs and touch them on the tip on the lip. someday I saw a women kissing, or maybe puting her tongue in his year. Yeah I believe they MUST put a law of not allowing kissing in public also in Romania. I put my vote.
