Children often times hate school for a variety of reasons. Sometimes, they have had a bad early experience with an inept teacher. Or perhaps their parents are putting too many expectations on them. I think that the worst thing that you can do as a parent, is pressure your children. Encourage them to do well but don't pressure them. Of course, I really think that a lot of these parents are trying to come up with their own past shortcomings in the educational field.
Then there are just some students who feel like school is not worth their time for no good reason. Perhaps it was because they do not understand the importance right now. Perhaps because it is something that do not want to understand. It does sadden me to a very large degree to say the very least. Hopefully one day they will mature into understanding the importance of school but a lot of the time, it is much to do about nothing.

For many various reasons. But mostly because school is extremely boring to almost everyone.

There are many reasons for kids not wanting to go to school, one of them is that they are being bullied, teachers are mean, they have some learning disability.
I have some learning disabilities and I never wanted to go to math class because kids will make fun of me and call me stupid. There are many reasons, the best way is to being upfront with your kids and ask them if something is bothering, sometimes IS NOT just a face there's more to it than we know.

Many schools do not actually foster learning. They actually teach kids to follow rules and listen to authority. Kids do not usually enjoy this but by the time they graduate high school they are already socialized so well that they don't mind it. They come to see it as a fact of life that you have to go to a school with standardized learning.
