OK, You Conservatives WIN - He COULDN'T Be American!

I'm finally ready to give in and admit that President Obama couldn't possibly be a "real" American and I'm willing to eat a hearty helping of crow. We all know no REAL American President would ever think of passing on the huge honor of throwing out the first pitch on opening day of Major League Baseball - the AMERICAN pass time!
I know when it's come to the President doing other frivolous things I've sometimes come to his defense saying things like he's capable of thinking about the country's important issues even while playing golf or shooting baskets. However, the truth is, if he'd have chosen not to do these things it probably would have made him look better - or at least a little less evil - in your eyes but even I could never overlook this enormous slight!
Please don't rub it in TOO hard or say, "I told you so!" too many times!
Annie

I never thought I'd have anything in common with Obama. We both wear mom's jeans.

You know I remember hearing he didn't call the team that won the World Series last year to congratulate them. I guess it's been a long standing tradition that the president congratulates the winning team and he did not do that.

I know for years it was a tradition for the President to make a locker room call to the winning team of all the "major" championships but I don't think they've done that for quite some time. It seems to me President Obama has had all of the recent championship teams, both college and professional, to the White House but sometimes it's months after the event. I remember back when Clinton was in office he had the USA Today's High School Football champion team to the White House; I remember because it was MY high school!

.....Hi annie, Are you going to tell me this is your April Fool's joke? If not it should be. The only reason the man didn't throw out the stupid first ball of the season (sorry not a baseball fan, I like tennis) was because of all the ignorant flak he got when he picked his choices for the basketball tournament. "Oh there's a crisis going on, he shouldn't be doing any brackets". Like that was going to stop or start something. This just goes to show you that he can't do anything without a complaint from whatever side chooses to fling mud balls his way. The one thing I like about him, he usually does what he feels is right. Keep it up Obama. Oh, did you hear that the Treasury Dept. is reporting a six billion dollar return on investment for the TARP program, more to come reportedly? So much for those who said they would lose money. Sorry to be so brash "o). Cheers.

Ha ... perhaps! I hope the two of them will be more into academics rather than that heavily into fashion. Remember 1st Lady was actually never into fashion prior to this public thrust ... she was very, very disinterested in fashion ... she was and still is all about good gray matter .. "brains" !!

LOL Annie! Sadly, if not being too good at throwing a pitch makes one unAmerican, then I guess my blood runs red too. ;~D

The Brother ain't got not love for Baseball? Wow! This is the only thing I agreed with Bush, his love of baseball. I wouldn'r kid him for it , nor listen to ant negative views on it.Bush onced owner The Rangers I was told and I said ok. We Have That in common.I am sadden that Obama has so liottle regard for baseball. But then agin his " sport" basketball seems like a huge waste of time to me. So we are even. But He was born In Hawaii so he is An American but does he have good taste in sports , No!

Perhaps he knows he has a horrible arm, and preferred not to embarrass himself over public television. In he would know it would be replayed for years to come and to be the butt of the joke on all humorous night television shows for the next month or so.

Throwing out the first ball is trivia. This man has taken more time off of work than any recent president. George Bush quit playing golf because the left screamed that it was "unseemly" when we were at war. Where is the left now when the prez is playing golf, basketball, and throwing parties? Pure hipocracy!

Welcome to myLot!
Actually, Bush did NOT stop playing golf, he just said he was going to but was filmed playing several times after that. Also, I don't remember "the left" screaming about it, I know I didn't. Now, his six week vacations were another matter...
