Did you ever get your hopes up just to get them dashed?

Nothing seems to go my way, and recently my boyfriend, my brother and his girlfriend and I finally had things going our way just to find out today that everything fell through.
I'm a cynic and I never let myself get my hopes up about anything, but this time I did and it made me remember why I don't do that. Sigh.
Has something like this happened to you? What did you do?

never lose hope, never lose faith.. it what's make us mere humans and if ever it didn't go your way, it happened for a reason.. accepting things not expected is a sure sign of maturity and wisdom.

As the saying goes, "When a door closes, a window opens.." everything has a reason and always remember that one has to fall to realize your strength to get up... it is inevitable to go through these things in our lifetime as it is a certain reminder that someone up there is watching over you and will give answers to your dilemma.

YEs.. I have had several experiences of this.. my BF, promising me to go on trips with him... for vacation only to end up him forgetting about that promise...
my brother promising that we will see my nieces and nephew this weekend and I was even prepared to see them and take care of them this week... and then the last minute he said they are not coming anymore. hayy it was a sad news because i miss them already...=(

Its normal to hope for something but please do prepare for the worst thing that could happen for you not to be disappointed to much... this coming sunday i'll celebrate my birthday, i've invited my friends and hoping that they would show up, but i'm prepared if no one will come in preparing for the worst you will lessen the disappointment and pain... though i don't know what you'd hope for and why are you disappointed right now but still i hope you'll be better soon, then if not that's the worst part

Thanks for sharing your thoughts. I agree. I usually set low expectations to avoid this kind of thing, but I got so excited I guess because everything was on track for us for once. But things happen. Nothing to do now but move on and hope we get going in the right direction again.
