I honestly think that this is really healthy for you. I though can't seem to drink the recommended amount of water each day. I'm a slow drinker and it takes me literally forever to drink a glass of water. I really like water when it's ice cold but even then I can't manage the recommended amount in a day. If your able to accomplish how do you do it? I will keep working at it.

I drink water more than 8 glasses a day. I don't know what's with me but I tend to get thirsty all the time. Not to include the sodas, juices or teas that I am drinking everyday. That's also the reason why I pee to much and sweat a lot. But I guess it's healthy though. It will wash away toxins from your body.

If you are always thirsty you might want your doctor to perform a diabetes test on you.
That is how my father found out he had diabetes. And my husband who has it and would not pay attention to his doctors advice is now on insulin.
My husband says people eat to live
He says he lives to eat.
Sounds funny but the food will eventually kill him along with the diabetes.
He drinks a gallon of tea a day and about 4 to 6 diet cokes a day.
I know because I am the one that makes his iced tea and I have a busy two days keeping up with his drinking habits because he drinks so much
I make a gallon of tea and it takes me almost a week to drink through it.
However I drink other things too.
I limit myself to 1 cola a week now after all the calories they contain.
I do drink about two cherry 7-UP's a week they contain no caffiene and have antioxidents in the drink.
other than that flavoring in my water so I can stand to drink it. And I also drink Plumsmart Juice for digestive regulation.
I cant advise you on what to do, but a simple test will relieve you to start on a different lifestyle and you can control the diabetes with diet and exercise.
I have been with my husband for 11 years. Just last fall he finally started exercising. His point was he did not want people to see him exercise.
So we have all kinds of reasons for why we can or can't find out something.
good luck and sincerely hope you don't have the illness.
Also check into the history of your parents health. Like I said my father had it.
My husband and his older brother have it. His mother is borderline.
So there is heredity to consider with diabetes also.

I agree with you marie, that was I felt when my blood glucose level is uncontrolled, the feeling that you always thirsty, very weak, shaky and lightheaded are symptoms of having diabetes, so try to consult your doctor or diabetologist while its early because diabetes has many complications if untreated.

Actually, what I do is I fill up a gallon jug, or at least buy one, and drink it. I didn't use to drink this much water, but now, the least that I drink is 1 gallon a day (normally it's 2 gallons). I don't like to drink it out of a glass anymore but I have to constantly pour another glass. A nice cold jug is good enough for me. And that was during the cold weather. During the summer, I go through between 2 and 3 gallons a day. Also, because I drink water by the gallon, it is cheaper to buy at the store than the bottled water, since not that many people walk around turning a gallon to their face. I do admit that water is not the only thing I drink. I also drink pop (not that much), milk (habit is as bad as the water), and juice (I still drink that in a glass). People do look at me strange because I am always carrying a jug with me, but I am a big guy with a huge thirst, and I work hard, oh and not to mention that I have a body full of muscle. Compared to a normal person, by the time they finish chugging a typical water bottle, I would have drunk half a gallon of water, and not having to use the restroom. Also, I managed to stay cool in hot weather after drinking a lot of water, especially when I am working in it. How I do it is simple: The bigger I get, the stronger I become, and the harder I work, the more I consume. I drink so much that a gallon doesn't feel like a lot anymore. I can probably start a drought by myself.

Drink plenty of water. It's funny because during the summer, and when it was hot, I was drinking so much that people were blaming me for droughts and days where water restrictions are enforced. One of these days, I am going to get fined for it. But now, I have gotten used to drinking water by the gallon. It doesn't seem like a lot to me anymore. A glass or a water bottle no longer cut it. Now, I have a habit of putting one next to my bed for when I go to bed, but when I wake up that jug is empty. Fish don't need water like I do. This gallon jug is my glass. Recycling places must love me with jugs stashed everywhere.

You really do drink a lot of water. That is good. Especially when your out in the heat it's good to keep hydrated. Yeah and you deffinitely don't want to have a heatstroke. So it's good that you are able to drink plenty of water.

wow...
2 and 3 gallons a day in summer. It sounds crazy to me. I can drink no more than 1 gallons in the hottest days.
Maybe you are really a big guy full of muscle, which makes you need so much water a day.
Since water is good for health, I would like to increase the amount of water I drink everyday.

Yeah don't feel bad. It's a hard thing to do. Usually i start to feel really ful before i even get close to drink eight glasses. It's good though for us to try and be consistent with drinking water.

Place the 8 glasses of water in a pitcher then take a sip if you hate gulping, little by little you will empty the container but then it should be placed where in sight always because if you put inside the ref then you will forget. Even you don't feel like drinking as you see it for sure you can take even a sip.

I agree that carrying water around with us while we are out and at home is helpful. When we don't see it then it's out of sight out of mind. And when that happens we aren't able to drink much water. I also think that taking sips help especially when I don't necessarily feel like drinking water.

Yes i would say you should drop a lot of those glases. Perhaps you can ask a doctor if your lacking some defficiency that makes you so thirsty. 20-25 is too much.

I struggle with the 8 glasses concept, but my way around is to always put my water in 500ml bottles and keep it in the fridge..sometimes I add some lemon when I feel like it.. this makes drinking water a pleasant experience for me and keeps me close to target.

I think most people would agree that drinking 8 glasses isn't that easy. We literally have to be drinking throughout the day. A little every hour if we are not big drinkers. Filling up a bottle and keeping it cold helps. I also agree with you that a lemon helps.

That is a good point that you bring out. It's good for us to consume 8 glasses of PLAIN water. Nothing added to it, or as some people say that they get plenty of water as their coffee :). Also about you bringing out how our body consists of mainly water. So we need to keep ourselves hydrated.

Hi,
I do drink alot of water everyday, but i never go and
measure whether are they exactly equivalent to
8 glasses of water. As long as ,I don't get any sore throat,it means
they are fine.
I always get ready a bottle of water when I am going out,in
case , while driving, I need to drink, I have a water at my side.
Due to hot weather in my country, I really need to drink plenty
of water. I even make some cooling teas/drinks everyday for my
family. It does help to bring down the heatiness in our bodies.

I agree it is a good idea to keep water with us when we are out and about. It really does make a big difference. I drink more water when I have it with me throughout the day. It's hard when I don't have any with me.

Before, I completely drink 8 glass of water a day. Sometimes it exceed. What I did is drink before and after meals. And then 2 glasses inbetween the time of meals. However, everytime I drink I pee alot. Its not good at all. I used to go to the bathroom most of the time. Because of that, I have to reduce my amount of drinks. I have watched on a tv that an average of 6 glasses of water is enough in cold places. Maybe I drink too much in a cold weather. If you are in a cold weather, 6 glasses is enough for you. just drink before and after meals - breakfast, lunch, dinner.

I'm glad that you are able to drink eight glasses a day. Being able to drink that much regularly would require us to drink throughout the day regularly. It does make us use the bathroom often. Thanks for sharin the tip about drinking 6 glasses in winter time.

Good discussion, Dominique25. Actually, the recommended daily intake of liquid is 8 glasses. However, it doesn't necessarily mean water alone. Liquids refer to any liquid form taken in to the body through drinking such as fruit juice, hot drink, soft drinks, and of course water. We must not live a day without drinking water for it cleanses and purifies our excretory system. At least half of the recommended glasses must be allotted for water intake so as to have a healthy and balanced lifestyle not to mention the balance diet and natural fruits and vegetables that accompany your meal. =)

I`m the same way. It is doctor recommended to drink 8 glasses a day, but I seem to not keep up with that. It`s been busted on the tyra show though. They said that yes, you do need 8 glasses a day, but! some of the food we eat has water in it also! So, technically it doesnt HAVE to be 8. With full means, it`s about 5-6. So, keep doing what you`re doing. :)

Thanks for sharing this. I guess I never really thought about food having a lot of water. That it would supplement in a way. That makes me feel better. I will keep working then on drinking 5-6 a day.

drinking 8 glasses of water a day is hard to do especially if you are not a water drinker, but in tropical place like philippines where the climate is hot, sometimes it takes more than 8 glasses of water. maybe you can drink water little by little, do not force yourself to drink a whole glass of water if you cant. drink in moderation but as often as you can.

I agree that drinking in moderation is good. We don't want to overdo especially if we have a hard time. Pacing our selves is the way to do it. We want to drink throughout the day.

Water cleans your inner organs and helps you to digest food better. Drinking 2 liters of water per day is not so hard. If you think that only 1 liter comes from your food you only have 1 liter to consume during the day. When it gets hotter in the summer I even drink 10 liter per day. I am like a duck I drink water without stopping.

More than that-much more by far. Assuming a glass is 250-300 ml, you're talking of around 2-2.5 liters. I consume at least 3 to 4 bottles of 1000 ml each during the day and night during summer and about 2-3 bottles in winter.
This is besides the conventional hot and cold beverages that one consumes in India - about 2 to 3 cups (say around 75-125 ml) hot or iced tea, maybe a cup or two of hot or iced coffee (around 150 ml) during the day.
In summer I use chilled water sometimes and prefer iced teas and coffees.

I can't really drink eight glasses of water each day because it's just way to much for my body to handle because it feels like to much water and I also don't like going to the bathroom a lot. That's what happens though, but it is good because the water is washing out all those bad toxins out of the body.

I agree that drinking plenty of water rids are body of toxins. I love to learn about what to eat and drink that keeps us healthy. Water is really a cheap way to keep healthy. Water does a lot for us without having to spend a lot of money. Unlike all the other things we have to pay a lot for to keep healthy.

That is mostly a Diet Task or a Person Who Loves that much Water. I had Drank Two Glasses of Cold Water that Help Cure my Asthma. That much Water is Very Filling and
it will make You Run to the Bathroom. You seem to be Forcing Yourself to Drink that
much Water. Drink Water When you are Thirsty and maybe Exercised a Lot. Even from a Hot Day Outside. Drink What Your Body Tells You not to need to Complete the Task of
