Do you fall asleep when you read??

Don't you just hate when you are almost at the end of the book your reading and your eyes keep closing. I often read at night and so into the book that I hate to put it down, and I get sleepy and I want to finish reading it. It bugs me when I'm always at the end and I can't keep my eyes open. I will read it and the next day I have to read the end again because I was so sleepy and I couldn't remember what I read. Anybody else encountered same problem?

Well, I did have such experience. But it is not often like that in my case. Most of the time, when I read, I do not feel sleepy and obviously end up reading the book until I finished reading the whole content. Most especially if I am reading something that is very important and interesting.

Hi, Sometimes, I can fall sleep while reading or watching TV,it means I am quite boring and tired, that is why I can sleep half way while doing another thing. I don't read novel or those thick books because It makes me fall asleep easily. I only read those magazines or story books that can attract my attention.

Same thing happens to me every time I read a book. I already set a plan to finish reading a book in two weeks time however I don't think I can accomplish my plan since every time I read I feel so sleepy even just after reading a page or two. I already tried drinking coffee while reading to help me stay awake but one cup of coffee is not enough to really help me stay awake but I don't want to drink too much caffeine so I don't know what else to do.

I have trouble getting into reading a lot of the time, but I have fallen asleep while reading also. Most of the reading I do is school related so I often have to re-read material even if I wasn't sleepy when I read it. Lately, I haven't read anything but school books.

Hi. abmacasinag. Yes, I have read a book while I fell asleep on my bed. And when I wake back up, I try to finish reading my book again. I usually will remember where I left off at, because my book page always seems to be at the same location that I have stopped reading at before I have drifted off to sleep.

when I am reading a fiction book I usually finish it so I don't fall asleep but if I am reading a reference book and studying that's my problem, hahaha, I'll fall asleep so my trick is to listen to music to prevent me from sleeping! :))

No, I don't.I love to read, most of the time I am not even able to fall asleep until I finish the book. Some books are worth to lose sleep over it. I guess I was just too excited about how the story was developing that I couldn't care less or more about anything else.

That has happened to me before. I get that way sometimes on the computer. It always happens when you're relaxed and ready to read a good book. After a few pages or chapters you start drowsing. I guess it's normal.

Hi abmacasinag! It happens to me as well. Even if the book is really good, when I feel sleepy I suddenly drone out the zone. I cannot do anything about it but to put the book aside and rest. When I wake up though I am excited to start reading again!

My husband gets sleepy after reading for only a short time, but I could read all night, a book not from the computer screen.

ah for so many times i experienced the same thing, and the moment i read it again, i have the struggle to get back the enthusiasm of reading it the time before i fall asleep, but then since it still keeps my interest, i continue reading but i chose ample to time to finish with without the hassle or worry that i might fall asleep again.

From my understanding, it can be a symptom of diabetic if you fall asleep easily. ha! ha! ha! I don't think the our problem has not come to so bad yet. I do have a habit to fall asleep when I do my reading. It is a very boring to books or articles for long period. Because of examinations and school works, I did have to force myself to read a lot. When I fell asleep, I should continue my reading after waking up. If I couldn't remember whatever I read before, then I had to read again and again until I could remember in my mind. It was very grateful once I graduated and free myself from reading a lot.

Well, it's natural Auds to feel sleepy and eventually sleep while reading a book. If i want to get sleepy, i would read the bible while lying down with the lampshade light on. When i get too sleepy already and can't seem to retain in my memory what i am reading, i would close the book and the lampshade. But should i really want not to fall asleep while reading, i sit upright and read. That way, i don't get sleepy. But yes, i have experienced that one time too. I dozed and feel jolted when i realized i did that.

I have often fell asleep while reading a book. It's so nice to read a portion of a book before going to sleep or taking a nap. It's very easy though to fall asleep because you get so comfortable and especially if your really tired. The light being on wakes me up and so then I can turn put my book away, turn off the light and go to bed.
