I have attended a seminar about organizational management recently, and I have learned about the roles of the leader that every leader must possesses...For example, leader must be able to plan, lead, organize and control the events that he is in charge of ...What are other examples of the role of leaders that you think someone must have to establish himself as a quality leader?

A good leader must also be a good follower. If he knows how to follow and know when to be humble, then that helps make a person a good leader. A good leader knows how to motivate his subordinates, get a hold of them and learn how to get them together and not control anyone but rather knows how to encourage those below him to do the right thing. A good leader acts and sets a good example to his constituents in order to gain other people's respect. It's not about just having the abilities to plan or organize but he needs to know how to value every thing he works for.

A good leader must also be a good follower... This is proven to be true throughout the time, and I believe is applicable to all leaders no matter what they lead...To say your point in a word, I would prefer empathy - knowing what is the feeling of other people, or putting yourself in their shoes...If the leader does not have this attitude, I believe many people will not prefer to work under him/her due to his/her bossy attitude...
Nevertheless, I couldn't pass but to agree that leader acts and sets good example to his constituents in order to gain other people's respect... I believe it is not uncommon to hear the saying, good leaders lead by example ...When people see your credibility, it is easier for them to give you respect that you need to lead them towards the goal of your organization...
Thanks for sharing!

A good leader should be able to see the 'large picture'. He should not concern himself with detail but should know his team and their skills well enough to be able to delegate and trust them to deal with the minutiae.
A good leader is humble. He knows his own skills, of course, but he also knows and respects the skills of his team-members (and, in particular aspects, members of his team may have better and more individual skills than he posesses). Imagine a sledge driver with a team of dogs. He could not hope to pull the sledge as fast or as far as any one of his dogs but then the dogs could not know where best to direct the sledge. As a team, a good sledge driver and his dogs are superb. Take away either the leader or the dogs and the sledge would not go!
A good leader must therefore realise that he is only part of the team (and also human). He should be able to make the most of his team's strengths but he must also be able to empathise with their individual weaknesses and, ideally, be able to recognise the strengths within the weaknesses.
The best leaders I have known have always been able to socialise with their team members and relate to them honestly and as friends in human terms.

Indeed you are true...I believe one of the significant reasons why some leaders fail to lead their cause is that they are too focused on the small details...The ability to see the large picture is important, and nowhere it can be seen better than in the battle fields...The captain of the squad must be able to see the war in hand as a whole, and not just as a particular battle...Nevertheless, he must also know his squad well enough and assign their position in battle accordingly...
Be able to treat his team as his friends and teammates in the same time is arguably important in order to be a good leader...It is important so that there is no gap between the leader and the team because none of both will survive without the other...By the way, I really like the dog-and-sledge-driver example! Nicely described!
Have a good day!

A good leader should ofcourse know how to lead his subordinate. It's important for a leader to be motivated and know his direction to where he'll be leading his people. He should be strict but open minded. He should also know how to ask from others, accept and learn from mistakes. A good leader is also a good manager whatever it is that needs to be managed. Also, a good leader is a possitive thinker and someone who doesn't easily gives up. Someone who makes every event a good opportunity.

I am interested to response to your statement that he(the leader) should also know how to ask from others, accept and learn from mistakes...
From what I have learned, indeed it is...A leader should not only able to direct other people, but must also be able to take the opinion of other people, as well as conforming with other suggestions...He should not be too egoistic as well...I believe every human leader is an ordinary human being as well, and yeah human made mistakes...I don't expect my leader will do everything with perfection, but I expect him to accept the fact that he made mistakes and learn from it...
Somehow I feel that a good leader must also be a good opportunist...The world nowadays is full of surprise, and you don't know when you will get a golden opportunity to make your organization better...So, the leader must always be alert with the surrounding, make fast and good decision, and optimistic with the opportunity handed to him...

A good leader is a good follower, and a good follower is a good listener...The world works that way indeed...Listen to others, and one day people will listen to us as well...
