When you go to a garden center you will see many different things like plants, flowers, vegetables, fruit trees, sheds, summer houses, greenhouses, playhouses, ponds, pots and seats. Which things do you like to look at? If you had a choice of three things to get for your garden which of these things would you like to get? Is there a garden center in your local area? If so what is it like?

If we are talking about big box stores like Lowes or Home Depot then yes there are plenty of them around. And considering that I live in the a town over from the "Indoor Foliage Capital of the World"¹, it is safe to say there are more nurseries here than in other areas. When going to a super-center/garden center, the first thing I have to look at are the annuals and then the perennials and then the trees... pretty much in that order. God knows that I am there for some other reason but always have to check out the flowers before I go inside to get what it was that I was actually there for. As for what it's like... like any other big-box store... can't find anything without asking and way too huge for the ONE thing I need to buy. But then again, I know it's there... somewhere. Thanks, Zelo ¹ - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apopka,_Fl

The first thing that usually catches my eyes at the pretty colorful flowers, I like to look at them whether I buy any. There are several nursery close to where I live. I like to stop by and look in the summer and I will think about whether I can plant this or that in my yard or not.

besides the big box stories, we have several different kinds of "garden centers" one is quite dedicated to having the best, hardiest, healthiest plants. You get a rose there it will (unless you have a black thumb like I do) survive in this area. Others are more general selling plants and other things. Now, what would I want in MY garden? Well, I'd like a waterfall/pond - I love the sound of falling water. I would want it to be oriental, I love oriental gardens. and maybe have some habitat for wild animals, the cats love the wild animals... however, since I can't spend that much time outside where the bugs can get at me, I will just have my weedy yard instead

Yes, but I hardly visit them. However, I like to visit 'plant nursery' near my house. It has variety of flowering plant and my sister is now begin to start a new hobby of gardening. So, recently we bought 2 different variety of hibiscus plant, one is purple hibiscus and the other one is red. It begins to grow flower now. If I have a choice I would like to buy lavender plants, sage herbal plants and vegetables so that I can just pluck from the garden and serve fresh.

i love flowers a lot! i always wanted to buy plants that bears flowers, any kind for that matter. i started planting rose 2 years ago when we moved-in in our new house. from then on, i started planting other kinds of plants. and since we are new in the subdivision, my neighbors are so good enough to give me plants for free! after a year, i started to grow orchids, its so nice if your orchids starts to have flowers, it looks like they are so delicate and smells good too. one of these days, id like to have a garden table too, where i can sit and relax while staring at my flowers =) we also have a garden center near our place so it is not hard for me to find things for my garden, very accessible. i can even ask the owner for some advice if i have some questions about plants.

i live in a condo so there is not a lot of back yard space but i would love some sort of water feature and some sort of pergula to keep the sun off. it is so relaxing sitting outside listening to water gurgling while you read.

I tend to spend most of my time browsing the herbs and then the roses. especially if they have David Austen Roses. I have a bit of an addiction to them. and the more unusual the herbs the better.

I look at everything growing. I usually buy pansies, garden soil to mix with what's in the ground already since we have clay soil, and fertilizer since most of it was used up growing stuff last year.

The one I like to look at most, I believe that it would be ponds, even more if there is a little river and cascade on it, I see it as the most peaceful place to rest for a while. Other thing would be trees, and not only fruit trees but all kind of trees, a greenhouse, would be great too, specially if with a god collection of orchids, and some butterflys, maybe.

There are garden centers where I live, but I only go there to get ideas to do things by myself. The most I do is to draw what I want and get someone to help me. I buy the pots where is cheaper. I would love to have a pond, but it is not in my budget either. My mom has one that my father bought and she never puts water there.

I really enjoy going to the garden centers at the local stores. I love the smell of dirt!Right now I need to go to get something to plant in my backyard. I want these three things - they are broad so that I can sort of list more without details! lol.. vegetable plants, flowers, hanging plants.

There is a very large garden center in my suburb. And I go 2 there, like once every 3 month 2 get advice on how 2 taking care my roses. I have 150 roses in my garden. I don't really fancy 2 go 2 garden center, because I have my own large garden. I also got a small pond in it, full of lotus in Summer. And there R also Koi Fish in it. It's a like a mini garden center.
