First of all, I'm not saying I hate religious people. In fact, that is a good thing. But what I do hate are those who ALWAYS give answers from the bible. What am I talking about? Something like this...' Me: I find that person nice. He's good! Bible freak: According to the doctrines! Blah! Blah! There is no good for we are all sinners because of the original sin! Me: Obviously we all sin but I do not mean it in THAT kind of way. Bible freak: But according the the passage! Blah! Blah! this and that bible says! You guys get where I'm going. I just find it annoying how these guys force their religion into everything. The bible is a good book and it is there to guide us. Not take over the way we live. In fact! These bible freaks are contradicting themselves! The bible did say that "god gave us free will!" Then how come these guys do everything by the doctrines and passage. And besides. There are things in the bible that does not apply nowadays.

I agree that I do not like to be around people like that. They are very annoying. I also pity them because they are completely unable to think for themselves. They never appear to have an origingal thought in their head. A few of them are also some of the biggest sinners in existence. It is like they are trying to throw people off their trail by spouting verses - such a "good Christian" would never do anything like that! Until, they are actually caught and/or arrested. I would also like to point out that the Bible is not the only book that is quoted to excess. The Koran and the Talmud also have people quoting them in excess also.

Yeah, that is what I don't like. And some don't even make sense because they jusy quote and cannot even understand what they say or the topic is.

You right, friend. Bible is one of our guide to live peacefully and prevent us to more sin in our life... Don't hate people when they tell you about it. They always read passage from the bible for not mistaken in what they tell you. I want to know what is things that does not apply nowadays?

Do not be offended if there are people like that, my friend. They insist because that is written on the Bible. If you believe in the bible or the holy scripture. You need to broaden your mind. Just analyze what they say. If that is really true or not and compare to your belief...if that is against your belief, it's okay. Do not accept it. But if you really believed in God. You cannot avoid to believed what is written in the bible. But if your not firmly believe in God but having a slight believe on him. No big deal...

I guess you're right, although I do hope some people would be considerate on the beliefs of others. Some people can be inconsiderate, like the extreme Muslims who threaten Christians for becoming Christians. But personally, I would rather have people talk to each other as who they are instead of quoting things from either bible or any other holy book. Another problem with the bible is that, it can be interpreted in so many ways. One big sample is the revelation and genesis.

How does it not apply? I had a conversation once about Muslims and Christians. And in that conversation, I said that there are bad and good Muslims and Christians so people should not judge by religion. Then some guy started quoting stuff about the original sin. Kept insisting that all of us are bad according to the doctrines. Then I responded that I'm not saying it in a biblical kind of way. But still he insists on those stuff and quoted more lines. To the point that it no longer makes sense with the discussion. Doing things like these could cause more misunderstanding between us Christians and the other religions. All because people insist things from something they do not believe in. If you're someone who does not believe in the Original Sin, then some guys kept insisting you are bad because of something that is written in the bible. It would give you a negative impression.

Well I am not sure what is your saying here but if you do not want a biblical response I suggest you state it in your question. Give me an answer that is non religious or not from the bible. If it has to do with something that would warrent a bible scriptue or response then unless you state your looking for some other more generic answer why be offended by biblical reponses. True there are a lot of Christian people and some none so Christian who claim they are. Some are relgious nuts. So phrase your question where you let responders know you want a different non bible oriented answer.

Actually, all answers are okay. Biblical answers are good too. As long as it makes sense. I'm just not liking those who quotes too much to the point that it does not make sense anymore. Namely the forceful ones, the limited to the quote ones and the ones who quote to act smart.

I'm Catholic. But I seek more than what is in the bible. In fact, the church in my country is getting worse. Why would I stick with them?

I am Catholic, but I seek more than what is written in the bible. Yes, I use it too, but surely all about God cannot be compressed in the bible. The bible is written by people who have been enlightened or have communicated with God. Surely there is more than what is written. Or has God stopped communicating with us? I just do not like people forcing me into things that is unnecessary.

Hate is such a strong word. Frankly, I cannot imagine ever hating anyone. God loves everyone, even the unlovable. I'm supposed to do the same thing. Luke 6:22 Blessed are you when men hate you, when they exclude you and insult you and reject your name as evil, because of the Son of Man. Sorry. Couldn't resist. To me the Bible is the ultimate wisdom. It is God's instruction manual. I use it in every day conversations and quote from it in my writings, just as I might use words of wisdom from the US founding fathers or famous philosophers. The answers for everything have already been written. Remember...."there is nothing new under the sun." Why shouldn't we use that wisdom? Why shouldn't we share it?

I know a lady in her seventies who does that! She even brings a quote from the bible,on a piece of paper on the days she works, too! She is a religious freak alright! She even beleives every word in the bible! It is very annoying! Once she gave a bible speech to a co-employee who at the time was living with his furure wife. He got an earful and didn't appreciate it! He let her know how he felt and since then she doesn't annoy him with religion, anymore! This woman is also like that with politics which is another story!

In my case, there is this guy who preaches things from the bible at times that these things should not be discussed. And if you disagree, he'll be forceful on explaining stuff according to the doctrines and passages. If you tell him to stop, he'll just say "why do you turn from the teachings of God?". It is annoying because he is acting like an as but with good intentions.

Don't let it bother you so much. The Bible is really important to a whole lot of people (including me), so it's bound to come up when you don't want or expect it to. And I highly disagree with one of your last statements. You say the Bible is here to guide us, not take over our lives. I think the Bible should take over our lives, or more specifically faith and love for God.

True, to what you say. I just do not like people being forceful about it. To the point it doesn't make sense anymore. And as for what I said about the bible being a guide. I really think it is a guide and should not take over our lives. There is more to God than what is written there. And we should seek more of god than what is in the bible. Limiting ourselves to the bible is somewhat not right. And it kinda takes away our gift of free will. But, I agree with you with faith and love for God.

Its annoying really, but dont get me wrong I am a good Christian not an anti christ or something. I see their point in speaking on the side of the bible but theres something about it, may be a guilt or an internalization that in fact I eally did something that is against the bible.

In my case, I just find it annoying, especially if they force their teachings into you. Their message is good. But the forcing.
