In the finals of ICC World Cup Tournament 2011, it was Gambhir who has taken the responsibility immediately after India lost its early first two wickets to get the India very nearer to the Win! Though he missed his World Cup Century , hos performance was simply superb. He has shown a performance of a matured player and he was seen absolutely cool and balanced and he tackled the batting very cleverly. I think He was the saviour of India in the finals! Your opinion please! Thanks !

Hello AkRao,
My response get converted into comment, I don't know how. Please consider the above comment as my response.
When Virendra Sehwag and Sachin got out, there was no hope. In that crucial time, Gautam Gambhir once again showed his potential and showed Team India the path of victory. He is simply superb.

In fact after the unexpected dismissal of Virendra Sehwag and Sachin Tendulkar, when Indian team was in absolute trouble, it was this great player who has shown a a great maturity and determination in his batting! He batted like a responsible batsman and with his cool temperament he could take the Indian Team till the door of victory! Though he missed his Century by 3 runs, his 97 runs will be written in golden letters in the World Cup History!

Yes, he is responsible for the victory Team Blue has gained. Without his efforts, it was impossible. His 97 runs boosted enthusiasm in Dhoni who made 91 runs and regained his lost momentum. Dhoni was unable to make run this this tournament but when he saw Gambhir batting like Sachin, he also get inspired and performed to the hilt.
Congratulations, India is now Super Power in the World of Cricket.

Gautam Gambhir has proved himself backbone of Indian Team.
When he came down at third number for batting, he made huge partnership with Sachin Tendulkar of more than 100 runs.
He has shown consistent performance against "Big Teams".
He made 50 runs against Australia -- these runs were very crucial in that match.
He made 51 runs against England -- contributed for a high team total.
He made 69 runs against S. Africa -- again in the time of need.
He made 97 runs against Sri Lanka -- necessary runs for victory which led India to capture the WorldCup yesterday.
He is wonderful player since he came in the team. In world cup only his statistics are superb. In 9 matches he made 393 runs with strike rate of 85+.
I really loved watching him play in all the games. What a batman he is. His technique is great. He made around 40 fours in this world cup.
