Hello myloters! I have just read a very interesting trivia in a magazine (actually it's a kid's magazine), according to the mag, the ice cream cone's first purpose is not for holding ice cream, guess what? They're for holding flowers! Think that's true? :D
PS. The mag's cartoon network

so, were these ice cream cones edible? and why were they called ice cream cones in the first place if they were used for flowers? why not flower cones? LOL.
anyway, before the invention of cones, ice cream was served (and licked) from a small glass dish or it was wrapped in paper. that's from another source. one source also mentioned that edible cones were used in france around the early 1800s.
