Japan is a rich country. Small and yet very powerful.
But nothing is more powerful than mother nature.
And the world watched in horror as Japan was hit by a devastating earthquake and devoured by tidal waves.
Suddenly, the very powerful country was brought to it's knees.
We then realize that no matter how powerful you may be, nature does not care. Nature is an unstoppable force.
As human beings who share the same fate as the Japanese, we should look beyond our own personal interests and make the effort to help no matter how small the gesture may be.
Prayers are very welcome. Spare money is also welcome. Think about it, if a million people give even just a cent for Japan, we'd be donating a huge amount.
So please, have a heart, pray for them and send a couple of cents their way. Many foundations are welcoming donations for these proud nation.

That's right. I would just like to make a slight correction on your statement, my friend. You might have meant "Nothing is more powerful than God." I can see that you also believe in God that's why I feel comfortable to send this message across. I know we will understand each other.
God has power over everything, including nature; and if you're familiar with these verses in the Bible, you would have an idea that earthquake is a sign of God's wrath.
Job 9:5-8
"[5] Which removeth the mountains, and they know not: which overturneth them in His anger.
[6] Which shaketh the earth out of her place, and the pillars thereof tremble.
[7] Which commandeth the sun, and it riseth not; and sealeth up the stars.
[8] Which alone spreadeth out the heavens, and treadeth upon the waves of the sea."
The other citizens of the world should go hand in hand helping the affected people in Japan but aside from helping them recover materially, we, who believe God should also pray for them that they recover spiritually.
More than half of the Japanese population are atheists.

And if they ever believe in a god, it's not the God of Israel, who is the God of the Bible and the true and Almighty God who is capable of causing and stopping a natural calamity like this. We should pray to God that our Japanese brothers learn to recognize the God whom they should fear and rightfully serve. God loves us all and He wants us all to be saved.
Proof:
[4] Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.
But we should also do our part.
Proof:
[13] Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: FEAR GOD, AND KEEP HIS COMMANDMENTS: FOR THIS IS THE WHOLE DUTY OF MAN.
[14] For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.

It's a good thing that your belief in God never leaves you. It's a blessing indeed. But I recommend that you give our God a little more time by checking out what He has to say at least a few minutes of your time in a day. God had communicated to His people then and still communicates to His people now. although not the way a human being communicates with his fellow.
Proof:
Hebrews 1: 1
[1] God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets,
[2] Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;
He had His commandments written.
Proof:
[16] Seek ye out of the book of the LORD, and read: no one of these shall fail, none shall want her mate: for my mouth it hath commanded, and his spirit it hath gathered them.
With the available book [the Bible] that contains what God wants us to do to please Him and for us to live according to the purpose of our being, it's just right that we should pay attention to that book. It was not written in vain.
Proof:
James 4:5
[5] Do ye think that the scripture saith in vain, The spirit that dwelleth in us lusteth to envy?
And we have to treat it as our user's manual for survival.
Proof:
[16] All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
[17] That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.
Especially now, earthquakes happen literally everyday and the intensities are greater than ever as an evidence to the Lord's statement in Matthew 24:5-8
[5] For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.
[6] And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.
[7] For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.
[8] All these are the beginning of sorrows.
It requires a greater deal of preparation rather than just remembering God every once in a while like most people who believe in God do.
If you have spare time, please check this blog. It may help answer some of your life's lingering questions.
