between career and family

I quit my job last week. I personally talked to our Project Manager about my condition and I told her how much I love my career but I know I have to leave for it will risk my pregnancy. She was so understanding about it, but the sad part is she informed me that I am about to be promoted next month :( She said that she saw genuine love for social service in me and that's why she's promoting me. But fortunately, she told me that I can come back when I'm ready and as long as she will still be in her position right now, she would accommodate me. Oh I can't help but cry. I was overwhelmed. Have you experience departing from a job you really love before?

it is very difficult to choose between work and family. I think at home, you should earn for their work at home to create fun and extra income for yourself.
create your own fun for yourselves

That's what I am starting to do dear. And mylot is giving me a great outlet to vent. I love scrapbooking and I'm starting to do a piece but haven't gotten far coz I feel lazy sometimes. Still, being at home is new to me after working on-stop for 5 years...

Hi Jorhemkris! Welcome to Mylot!
I experienced departing from a job that I began to hate because I lost my baby in the process. I had a miscarriage due to work related stress. Had I known I would be having a risky pregnancy, I would have took a leave of absence but it was too late. After my miscarriage, I didn't have the enthusiasm to go back to that company so I filed my resignation after 4 years of staying with them.
I think you made a good decision. No amount of money can compensate for having a child. Do take care of yourself!

you're right sweet and me and my husband waited long enough for this baby that's why it is my top most priority right now to be healthy for this baby. Still, it hurts so much to leave something I love doing... but I'm sure something else waits for me :) And I'm sorry to hear about your baby... I think it's great you finally decided to leave the company.
