what is the deal with taxes?

i live in new york and our taxes get raised ridiculous amounts. i live in a moblie home park and in the area i live in the taxes got raised 41% and now my lot rent will be raised close to $100.00. i'm a single mom and i'm doing what i can now to make ends meet. how's it going to work for me by nexted year?

I hate them. I know that in some instances they are needed. In others it is just a way for our lazy govt. officials to get a bigger raise. So nice to know that these guys give themselves raises all the time and their income exceeds mine 4 times over...And that I am struggling to find a way to overcome the fact that more taxes are coming of my paychecks yet I am not getting a raise, or if I am it is a measely $.25 more an hour and I now have to decide whether to pay more of my gas bill or more of my electric. So i can definately sympathize with you! 41% is outrageous!!!
