Some may agree, some may not, i am speaking here in terms of Philippine views or basis. i have long been wanting to have a kindle, those that you can read ebooks..and i have been following its price see if i could now use my mylot earnings for this. But crap i am way stillll tooooo far from being able to buy one. The ones i saw on amazon are 95 dollars and that is the cheapest and they als have 135 dollars and it is still tooo expensive, I cannot buy one right now. i am way far from those amounts.
Is it really worth buying? for those who have one. And i am also still having doubts because that is like already a big money for me.

You may also want to research on ordering electronics from Amazon or any US-based online stores. I've read a lot of horrible experiences from other people where they were charged extra by Bureau of Customs for stuff they ordered online. :(

Try downloading the free Kindle application for your PC and get a feel for reading on the Kindle. It is not really the same because it doesn't have the portability of reading on the device but it may help you to decide if it is right for you.

I had wanted a kindle in the past but changed my mind about it when I realized that though I can read books for long periods of time, I get easily tired looking at a screen. I haven't finished a single e-book. If I liked something I downloaded I would go and buy the book. And paperbacks are smaller than the kindle. Hahah! I'm sure it's a nice gadget but it's different for me reading from the pages of a book and reading from a screen.

Personally I think the answer is no, it's not worth it. But then again I hate eReaders with an unmatched passion, and I'd gouge my eyes out and learn brail to continue reading before I buy one. I don't want eBooks to replace real books.
They're vastly overpriced, and when you drop one then you're going to lose your whole library and not just have to dust off some dirt from the cover of your book. And they depend on batteries and hard drives. I think I'll stick to real books.

I'd rather carry extra weight personally (I shall be STRONG BOOKWORM!), but it's your life and your money.

Well if you read a lot of ebooks then I think they are worth it but there are other readers out there that is much more cheaper like the microsoft reader.
But from the looks of it, your in the philippines so you have an option to buy the china made ones. I have seen some sell less than $30.

I was thinking of getting one, but I went and looked at one in a store and I really didn't like it. I love reading and I thought I could bring a kindle everywhere I go.. but I wasn't that impressed. My purse is big enough to fit a book so I'll just continue with that!
