The last two months have been a topsy turvy roller coaster ride for every Indian cricket lover. The start of the mega cricketing event saw the Indian team labeled as the clear favorites. However, as the group stages started, lesser convincing wins and struggles against the bigger names made the fans circumspect about the Indian team's prospects before the knockout rounds.
But as Team India went rewriting history books through the knowck out phase, the Indian fans sat at the edge of their seats, united in their war cries rooting for their national team towards glory. And so it happened. Captain cool with the towering six kick started the Saturday night party all over the country and the Indian fans had a sensational weekend bash.
With the euphoria still not sunk in yet, the IPL4 knocks off this Friday. Will the same Indian fan come back to the TV screens to watch the battles between the Warnes and the Kallises aganist the Cameron Whites and the Mike Husseys? Will the high of CWC 2011 win make IPL4 a bigger success than the previous editions, or will the fans say - enough of cricket?

I don't think so. IPL is different. Whole world is splitted and joined in each franchise's team. So there will be always attraction because IPL occurs only once in a year. Plus this team due to addition of new teams and changes in the player, it will be quite different. Nobody will say ENOUGH OF CRICKET. maybe they say it later during the upcoming matches and tours of Indian cricket team but not in IPL. I will enjoy IPL which is quite entertainment for me for the showers of fours and sixes. I would love to see some matches in the stadium. I live in Kolkata. I would like to see the match between Mumbai Indians and Kolkata Knight Riders. It will be quite good. The inaugural match too is of KKR against CSK. Can't say whether it will be a bigger success but it won't be down.

Hi lahiri,
You really raised a relevant point here. So much of cricket. Before the beginning of the ICC World Cup there was schedule after schedule and now after they have won the cup they virtually need some break. Sometime to spend with family members.
But would they get? I mean would the ipl allow them rest? And about your question that if or not there would be the same spirit that there were in the previous versions would be.
For me just a big "NO". And you can not predict the indian fans. in the just concluded World cup there was national sentiment and in the ipl there would be 'state' or city sentiment. This sentiment is a never curable thing in us. lol

Cricket fans are hungry for International tours for India. Unless India stops playing we wont stop stop watching cricket. IPL is very special event with lot of colors added to cricket.
