Better Chasers or Target Setters????

India

Dear all, I had touched upon this topic a while back. I would like to bring it out again. India during their world cup, have chased their targets successfully. They were set targets by Ireland, Netherlands, Australia and in the final by Srilanka. Team India successfully chased all those targets. But team India were not able to defend big enough targets like 338 and 296 against England and South Africa. Yes the Indian team did successfully defend themselves against West Indies and Pakistan. Team India has had the tag of being poor chasers in the past. But i believe that the team was different. The Indian team does have a strong middle order right now and somehow the team seems to be more confident when they were chasing. They never seem to lose their way like they did against England and South Africa. The Indian bowling attack has been able to keep a strangle hold on the opposition batting whenever they were bowling first. But somehow off late, the team has found it difficult to defend totals. I believe this also has to do with not having strike bowlers... Yes I do agree that batting or bowling first depends on the pitch conditions as well. I am talking about a condition where the pitch does not matter.... Share your views... Balu

Better in both because we have good batting line up but my choice is best run chaser because we get good opening from Sehway and Sachin. If lower order i mean bowlers start contributing we will be the best run chasers.
