I do normally two times praying to God earning morning and before going to bed. For me it gives a better peace of mind. Mostly in morning I request God to have a better day and in evening mostly thanking God. There are also some special days when I give whole day fasting. At times it make me feel that I coming closer to God.

Hi SHAMARACK, I do not intend to hurt any one but I do not pray at all. I know when people pray to God they pray mostly for their own good any benefit. Now if you ask god for yourself is not it a selfish act? And would God be happy with a selfish person? If you pray for for me for I am in the hospital fighting out disease. Pray for the ones who are homeless and deprived. And why you need to go to pray at the church or temple or mosque? Is not your God at your home? Id not He with you? The day people stop praying for themselves I will start praying formally.

The law allows each individual have their own freedom on the way how to approach to God, accordingly that freedom is well used. I feel there is a social dignity with some social rules that could get an individual molding to a social being. I feel in that, prayers do have a great role. To pray or not to is an individual choice.

Yeah, this should be or the purpose of the prayer is gone. I ask god for food for me only what my people would eat?

hi, I would like to share you about my pray :) me and I think lot of people do the same thing, I don't pray for my good/benefit only. I always pray to all people especially the people in my county which, maybe you know that recently there are many disaster like earthquake, flood, volcano, happen in my country. so I pray that there would be no more disaster. and I do pray in the mosque which if I have time, or in my house when I'm busy, or in my office when I'm at work, or in a bus, or everywhere :)

It may give a mental satisfaction in prayer, moreover I feel much positive energy is more in those places where much of positive thinking people gather.

Yes feeling that some one watching everywhere stop us from doing wrong, stop us from bad habbits. We can pray any where but I think temples, Mosoqs, church and gurudawaras is the best one because in increase constrainion.

Just like you, i would normally pray upon waking up and before going to sleep. But i also pray anytime, i have the urge to do so. I also get to pray the 3 o'clock habit everyday, because my cellphone reminds me to always. If i am at the office, i would stop working , sit and pray it. It also reminds me to rest and take a break from work. You are right, prayer makes us feel closer to God.

Properly with all ingredients and arrangements, I pray once a week. Otherwise, whenever I have time or my mind is free of other thoughts.

I feel our mind should have negative thoughts especially whenever praying.

as a moslem, I pray 5 times a day. the first one is so early in the morning before sunrise (04.30 am), the second is in the afternoon around 12.30 pm, the third is around 15.00 pm, the fourth is after sunset around 18.00 pm, and the last is at night around 19.00. these are routine and principal prayers. but there are also "sunnah" prays. there are so many kinds of pray in my religion and that is because we believe that God has created human and everything is to pray to God :)
