On Mylot, I think it is interesting to look at who starts more discussions and who replies to more discussions. I know in the beginning, most of us will reply to more because it is more comfortable. But as time goes on, people seem to start more discussions. I think it also has something to do with our personalities and if we are active or passive.

I mostly like to respond to a discussion,
I hardly start a discussion. and if I do I start it once in a week or so.
I really like to respond because i love to see other people opinion about certain things and what they like and which site they are working on.
anyways I mostly like to respond thats it.

I do it both. I start the discussions and I reply to the discussion too, but because I have a lot of things inside my mind and I have no one to talk to, I mostly start the discussions all the time although I also respond to some of the discussion. All the things that I have observed in everyday of my life helps me to start the discussion here in my lot because this is the only way I could express my true feelings.

I'm more on replying to discussion than making one. It's time consuming to think of a discussion that is interesting. I do post at times if there's a new idea. But more often then not, I'm more into replying to discussion, I really learned a lot.

Hello misc11 I usually reply to discussions that are already there rather than starting new ones. I do it because whatever I have to say or comment on, the discussions are all mostly there and I find it easy to get into those discussions more easily! I don't think it has anything to do with active or passive personalities, at least not the major part of it, I am happy enough to participate in discussions started by others!

Not sure if there is more value to one over the other, but for me it doesn't matter. I just enjoy the forum and participating

I have seen some people who start lots of discussions in a day (in gmail, the all show up in one email with different pages) and most people just start one. Some people don't start any except very occasionally. I think I fall in that category. I respond to a lot of discussions most of the time. I haven't responded to anything for about 10 days because of trying to get finished with a class, but last night I started going through discussions dating back to April 2. I am still a week behind in the emailed discussions, but I hope to get through all of them in the next couple of days. I might start one or two discussions in that time, but I usually don't have a lot to say so I don't bother. I don't like starting discussions most of the time anyway. Have a great day!!!

I tend to reply to more discussions than I start. As one of the respondents here said, it's sometimes hard to come up with original content for a new discussion. Sometimes though, I find that replying to a discussion can give me ideas for a new topic.

I personally enjoying answering discussion than making one. I had limited idea what I had to discuss and share with all of you. I usually discussing what happen in my life or something need help to resolve. I never make discussion just to made a debate with others.
I think its not related with Passive or active people. Why bother creating genuine discussion while there so many interesting discussion I can answer. I know its fun to see others responding to my discussion and replying them back. But I can not push my self to creating one every day so I just made it when I feel into it.

Well Till Date I have only started a few discussions. They may not be more than 10-12. Most of the time I have always been comfortable participating in discussions and sharing my opinions with others. I don't think it has to do with personalities, Yes there is no harm in being passive though and I do not care being passive to somebody if the thing other person is doing grasps my interests. I do not see a point in starting useless discussions just for the sake of doing it and many times I don't get a topic to start, so I feel happy that way by taking part in other's discussions. I have seen some people here who are constantly starting new discussions but they may be doing so to earn faster. Some people like me are comfortable replying to people's discussions and enjoying mylot along with earning money.

No friend I am not putting more discussion I write only 1 of 2 discussion in a day and not more response also only 5 to 10 responses daily because I have no time. Other works are also important so full time not pay for mylot.
But my 1 or 2 discussion is so powerful and interesting and I received more responses then I put my comments on that responses. But yes comments is more than the discussion and responses because I am putting my comments on each and every response.

You want 'everybody to reply to one discussion' more than you want 'one person to reply to every discussion,' right? Then do what you would like everyone else to do: start one discussion, then reply to as many other discussions as you can!
(Of-course you try to keep it down to 'one discussion-reply per person,' but--just like you're sometimes inspired to start more-than-one discussion in a day--so your friends will sometimes be inspired ...
(... I respond to discussions as they inspire me to respond, no matter WHO does the inspiration!)

I always do both starting a discussion and responding on posted discussions by other users. It's good to interact here on MyLot. You can share your thoughts, and and vice versa. It's like sharing of ideas and in a way you can learn so many things from what other people is posting.

I normally respond to discussions rather then start them. I guess I dont want to start one that someone else has already started but I can give my opinion on a subject and it is just my opinion. It might be similar to someone else but not exactly the same. I have started a few though.

I do both but I often find myself to responding to discussions :) I have to agree with some mylotters that we, especially newbies, have to get the hang of responding first before starting new discussions, not to mention we have to look for or wait for unique ideas to start our discussions with :)
