Do you shop when you plan to travel or before traveling?
With my recent travel, I shopped clothes before traveling. I want to prepare and have to use proper clothes for the place. Since it is summer time and the purpose for traveling is a mix spiritual and leisure trip, I have to buy clothes appropriate for the purpose and place. The place is Palawan which is rich in nature scenes, I had to buy comfortable clothes.
I guess, it is very much important that clothes we wear when traveling must fit for the purpose and the place.

I usually do not if I have clothes for that occasion. For example If we are going swimming, I just use my clothes that I already have but ofcourse I should buy sunblocks and stuff but not necessarily clothes.
But I usually buy clothes when Im gonna stay for a while in that location for example visiting a province or overseas.

well accessing department stores is not a problem in my area.
But i found it wasteful that you will buy new clothes for a 1 to 1 1/2 day trip.

Well, if you are familiar with the place and you are sure that some nearby shops will be available then I think it is fine not to buy clothes before traveling. It will be different when the purpose is not a leisure rather a mission thing or camping or the like.

I usually don't buy too much clothes before I travel. Part of the travel that I enjoy the most is shopping for stuffs in the place where I am going, Unless it is meant to be an activity tour like for sports, camps and other stuffs, i would rather pack light and buy stuffs there to bring home

Yes I too shop and depends on the trip but sometimes new items are needed to suit the trip. For instance I go to Arkansas once a year and although it is a personal trip, I tend to shop because of the activities I do while there and if I do not or no longer own what I need it is appropriate to shop.
When we took a cruise a couple of years ago I did also prepare because on the trip there we stops we were making that included outdoor activities and I did not own scuba equipment which was one of the items on our agenda.
So definitely when traveling let it be clothing and or toiletries I feel most do go out and buy to take with them. I feel it is best because shopping at the trip can be quite expensive and maybe not enough time to spend on shopping while on our trip.

That is so true. When traveling or going to a place which is not familiar to you or new to you, it would be best to have extras than purchasing your needs when you are on the location. Sometimes, you tend to buy more when you are on other places especially when you are in a limited budget.

Sometimes I go on a trip to a hot country when it is winter in my home country. The shops where I live at that cold time of the year have warm clothes for the winter weather. When I was 18 weeks pregnant with my daughter I went on a trip to Cape Town and the Garden Route. I went to a cheap clothing shop and asked if they could have a look in their store room to see if they had any summer clothes like t-shirts, cotton blouses, shorts and cotton trousers. Luckily they did have some shorts to sell to me. This winter I went to Colombia with my 3 year old disabled son and my 1 year old daughter. I was lucky to be able to find some summer clothing on a sale rail at a shop. The prices were reduced because they were having a sale. I spent about £100 on summer clothes for my winter trip. I bought some shorts, many t-shirts and a swimming costume. Unfortunately my shoes were worn out and for my trip to Colombia I have a pair of sandals that weren't so comfortable. As soon as I got back home I ordered a new pair of shoes. I wear vegan shoes that are made out of lorica I would love to visit Palawn and hop to some of the other islands in the Philippines.

I haven't traveled for a very long time. But I don't think I would shop before I go travel, I would prefer to shop at the places that I would be traveling to. I think trhat makes more sense. I have clothes that is for extreme hot or cold weather so I don't think I need to do that, I would pefer to save the money on shopping a the destination!

I use to shop before I took a trip, but now my budget has put a stop to that bad habit of mine. I say it is a bad habit of mine because, with several closet full of clothes, I a sure I could have find the appropriate outfits for traveling. I was just to lazy to go into the closet and sort out a few outfits that would have worked perfectly. Most times I travel, it is to places I have been before, so I usually know what the weather forecast will usually be. It is important to have the right combination of clothes when you travel, but I now start in my closet first.

That's right. We must shop more clothes for every travel. This can take an amount. We need calculate about this in the cost of traveling.

Well, when i traveled, I packed little so that I could buy cloths at my destination. There you are more likely to get the style for the place and the kind of cloths appropriate for the weather there, so check out the season before going to decide what you'll already be dressed in once you land there. This way you have an excuse to add shopping to list of things to do in such and such a place and give you a different shopping experience in that particular place. I know that you might wnat to do other things that you don't usually do back home, but those usual things are important too to see how they are done in different country and you get whole new experince. That's how I felt about when I shopped in New York, totally different feel than from where I live. So go for, and you'll return with great souvenirs.

Hi. maean_19. I have never heard of Palawan before. I have not traveled in a very long time. If I do decide to travel, I would go shopping before I would buy any clothing. I want to make sure that my clothes looked really nice on me before I would wear them, especially if I plan on taking pictures. I hope that you have enjoyed your trip to Palawan.
