Hello there dear mylotters
I was thinking if others are as passionate about reading as i am. Because i am purely addicted to it, i read wherever i can. I spend hours on every book i find and have read the novels most, but you would find it amusing that i have even spend uncountable hours on sites like wikipedia just in hope to find something to satisfy my hunger. So that was me, what about you, do you love to read? If yes then what specifically and if not what would your interesting reason might be. I am waiting anxiously for you guys, i love this topic.

It seems like most of the time I read these days, it is either something for school or something online. My brother tried to get me to read the Grapes of Wrath recently saying it would be easier now than when I was in high school, but I don't think I had any easier time reading some of the chapters now than I did then. I think I have read about 7 chapters and then it has been sitting for weeks unread. I don't know if I will ever finish it or if I will keep checking it out online until they tell me I have to return it to the library. When I didn't have access to a computer I did read more often. I like a lot of Grisham books (law stories I guess) and things based on true-life stories, but I didn't like horror things.

I don't remember if I read that one or not. I will see if I can find it online so I can see the storyline at least. I don't remember titles and it is hard to remember anything right now.

Hi there friend.
So you are a John Grisham fan like me too, then you might have read "the testament" by him, which i think is a very strange story about law, love, brazil. Humanity and society.
Please do tell me if you have read the novel and if not please do read it, in this life because it is something you might never want to miss out, you know teaches you a lot in the end somehow.
Anyways thanks a ton for responding and have a nice day.

I like to read also , and enjoy science fiction novels and horror novels.Steven King novels are my favorite and I like to read books that are fairly long in length.I often find myself reading a book for hours and sometimes i will read a several hundred page book in one sitting spending most of the day just reading.I just get to immersed in the plot that its just like watching a good movie , you do not want to leave until it's over.I am in college now and have little time for reading just for enjoyment.I will try to read more on my summer holidays.

Hi there SilverKing
I have also enjoyed Stephen King's some creations when i was a child, he has written thousands of books right? I read it somewhere but still i cannot understand how can one guy write on one sing theme for thousands of time, every time with a different story and show.
I see that you are a King fan so hope to see that answer coming from you, or may be he really is special in his own work of story telling. Anyways i loved your response, thanks for writing and do have a pleasant day.

Hi there mate
Political thrillers do sometimes excite me to keep reading them but biographies are a big no for me. They can kill a ton of excitement i have in a few seconds when i try reading and understanding the boring struggle of infamous personalities.
Thanks for writing and happy mylotting. Cheers

I do love to read but unfortunately, I do not have as much time to read for pleasure as I would like. When I do read, however, I usually prefer non-fiction over fiction and don't have a specific favorite author so much as I have favorite subjects and will read from any author who writes on the subject so long as they know what they're talking about (authors that base their judgments on a topic on myths and stereotypes, for instance, I avoid).
My favorite topics are: Dance, music, old New Orleans, German studies (esp. pertaining to New Orleans and integration into American culture), United States history, anything pertaining to our military, some aspects of psychology and sociology as well as a bit of paranormal research here and there. Autobiographies and books on Christianity and how to have a stronger relationship with God also go over well with me. I also look for books that might have anything pertaining to my genealogy. My family was a very prominent one in New Orleans during the 19th and early 20th centuries so finding references to it in literature is fairly easy. Oh, and I also love "smalltown southern" literature - as it reminds me of my mother speaking of her life growing up.
A lot of people assume that I read a lot of political material, but I really don't. I have several politicians that I admire and like to read their work as a result, but I am not interested in politics in general.

Yes, I read most days, not as much as I used to, but there again, I do read many things on line, but I don't consider that the same a sitting down with a good book. The books I read are mostly about Zen and self-improvement, meditation etc because I am a Zen practitioner and meditate every day. _Derek

I LOVE reading as well!!! I will read anything I can get my hands on. I can not tell you how many times I have blown a few hours at a time by reading, and it never felt like more than a few mins! :) And right now, as I am planning my wedding, I have been reading more and more wedding magazines and wedding websites, and am spending hours on those as well. Those who dont like to read, I dont get...I think that by reading you are learning a TON and why would you not want to learn and keep your mind young? :)

Hi neicie!
Yeah this habit of reading books with great interest sure sometimes get you the addiction, even more serious than the heroin, except the fact that it does not hurt you in any way except the loss of time that you give your love. Well i am also addicted to reading hopefully as much as you are, because whilst reading i too can never keep hold of the time as it passes by like anything. Hey so its your wedding ehh, i am very happy for you, i should not go babbling about your intimate life but i wonder if he is a reader as well, the handsome young guy your getting married to. :)

I use to read books very often growing up. I'm was more into the romance novels, novles fulled with drama. Now, that i'm working and in school reading has been on the back burner for now. I mostly read for entertainment, love to be entertained. So as soon as the semester is over maybe I'll have more free time for myself.

I actually like reading but at this time I just can't be bothered. I'm constantly in my computer because of our thesis. I only have few hours for free time. I like reading inspirational books and fiction. I like fiction because I think that is why I want to read, I want to imagine something beyond the usual. I was actually planning on making a novel last December lol but I'm just too busy now. I still want to write one in the near future though.

I love reading and I can read about everything. I used to go to the library by my house and get some good books. I love novels. Romance are great... However I can't spend a lot time reading this kind of books because my have to read my books from College. What is not a bad thing. I love my classes and the books so most of the time I am reading something about computers Hannah.

Actually there is one thing though, after all these years of reading i have clearly understood that every single line you read pays off some how some way.
And hey your name can be read as the same if all the letters are arranged invertedly. See i am good at reading.

when i was a kid, i love to read fairy tale books, as if i am the princess =). i used to read nancy drew notebooks too and bought several issues (hmmm, i hope i can still collect all the issues of nancy drew notebooks).
in my teenage years, i became addicted to pocketbooks about love stories.
on my college years, since i was an HRM student (Hotel and Restaurant), i used to buy cookbooks and magazines about cooking.
until now that i am already a housewife and a mother of two kids, i still collect cookbooks, some of them are from my relatives, some are from del monte kitchenomics where i was a member.

Yes, I like reading. It is one of my hobbies. Lately I often listen to Ebooks because I can listen to it on the way to work and go home. It seems I can take advantage of the time:) Besides, reading can make my eyes tiring. So listening to Ebooks is a good choice.

I love reading specially crime suspense book. and once I started I book, I have to finish it. I can't leave it unfinished for it will distract me if I do so. I can't help thinking what's going to happen next. Books by Sidney Sheldon, Mary Higgins Clark, Lisa Scottoline, Patricia Cornwell really hook me up....

Reading is a structure of meditation. We can certainly find encouragement in reading. And let me say that I have learned a lot of what I know about history, culture, and criminal investigation by reading fiction. But I think the most significant reason I read is for meaning. I believe that when an author writes a book, he or she does it because they want to say that there is something momentous about how people live in the world. And we can learn from that. In a world that often seems accidental, it’s wonderful to have recourse to the world of books.
