Rooney proved to his fans and to all his critics on Saturday kick-off that form is temporary, but class is permanent. But the FA slapped a two-match ban (which looks quite certain) on the Man U and England front-man for his abusive and animated display in front of the TV cameras.
What does it tell about the next generation of footballers? Does class, talent and style do not go hand-in-hand with professionalism anymore, or in the future?

Ryan Giggs is one who matches his class, talent and style with professionalism. It shows there are still such players in soccer. But I would said, what Rooney had done, is a disgrace. I can't see why is he swearing when he had just scored his hat-trick and had turn the match around for Man Utd. I can understand if he is thumping his chest and signal the away fans to raise their decibels. But to swear at the camera, I can't understand. And for his action, he is now suspended for two matches which includes the FA cup semi-final showdown with crosstown rival, Man City.

I haven't seen the game, nor the goals or his display in front of the cameras. All I can say about Rooney that he doesn't deserve the respect from the fans, because of the way he treated the club when he negotiated his contract, having no respect for club, management and fans. It shouldn't matter how well he plays or how many goals he scores, he should be booed off every time he touches the ball.
As for his behavior in front of the cameras, I don't know, but he shouldn't be considered a role model at all.
