For some reason we look at their appearance and if not that cute search for other things that would make them attractive. someone can have pretty facial and body features but their attitude can make them look ugly

We always seem to see a person by his physical appearance first. We shouldn't judge people on looks, but it is a flaw that so many of us have. Personality shows the true character of a person. Often the personality is more appealing than the appearance.
