Last week I was on vacation with my daughter and her family in Wisconsin Dells. I love eating in different restaurants and I love having dessert! We went to a place called Pedro's right in town. I was a Mexican restaurant and for dessert I ordered their fried snickers dessert! Yes....they wrapped a large snickers candy bar in a tortilla shell and then deep fat fried it...served it with ice cream and carmel and fudge sauce drizzled over it....topped it with real whipped cream! Have you ever had a fried snickers candy bar?

I have (well a Mars bar actually) but I far prefer deep fried ice cream which I had in a Mexican restaurant. It was a large scoop of vanilla ice cream and the batter was crisp and crunchy and had a brown sugar and cinnomen flavour. Very, very good.

I had never heard of a Friend Snickers bar before this. Sounds really yummy though even though it sounds fattening, full of calories and sweet. I would probably only be able to share a bite or two with someone. Not even sure if any of the Mexican restaurants around here have ever offered this choice or not.

Yum! I have actually, but it was made a little differently. We have them at the state fair. They use a batter of some sort of corn meal and sugar and then deep fry it. First I tried a milky way.. oh so good! Then we made some at home using a recipe we found online. Thankfully it's very very rich so you can't eat too much of it.

Hubby mentioned that the other day when we bought a new deep fryer because we couldn't find the parts to our old one. He said he could do it with a cadburry creme egg or a caramel egg.. oh sounds so good!

I have not been to the Dells in a very long time. Someday we'll get to spend some time there w/ the family... it's such a tourist trap or atleast the main strip of it is. I have not had a fried snickers bar, I've heard of them. It sounds sinfully good as they always mention the deep fried ___?___ on tv when State Fair comes BUT I'm to cheap to buy one. Plus I'd have to buy one for everyone & they are like what $4 or so ea x 5 people... nah I can skip it and we'll do the cream puffs.

Hi, jillhill. I have never heard of this dessert before. It sounds so yummy though! I would love to try the Brownie A La Mode'. Shoney's serves this tasty dessert. I have not eaten this in years. Maybe I can get a bite of this yummy dessert very soon. I have heard of many candy bars getting fried and served over a warm tortilla shell. I wonder how this will taste. I am glad that you have enjoyed it though!

It is hard for me to imagine such a dessert. Who would have thought that someone would have made this concoction up? How did it taste? No, I have obviously never had one but do love whipped cream and fudge sauce. I would have been in hog's heaven just eating that So how many did you eat?
