Having served Coach for Indian Team for three years this left handed bats man, right handed bowler and an excellent ground fielder Gary Kirsten now has taken over the responsibility of coaching South African Team! He incorporated discipline, dedication and planning to fight in team India and having set the gal to bein top in test Cricket and getting the World Cup 3 years back, Gary accomplished both the tasks very successfully with he help of team India.
He was not only a good bats man and bowler, but he had a superb temperament and while showing this he maintained low profile and coached the team not only improving their Cricket but also their temperament and other psychological aspects ofthe game which has taken the team to the Top level!
While leaving India he sincerely thanked India and he said that he was lucky to coach Indian Team. He said that Dhoni is the best captain in the World he has seen so far and e expressed that Sachin is a great cricketer with dedication and fa;air for cricket and he thanked him for the friendship wit him!
Now having joined South African Team, can this Coach make his own Country's Team number one in the way he managed to do with India? Can we see South Africa soon on the Top of World? Your valuable views will be highly appreciated! Thanks !

I have heard that Gary Kirsten is firm favourite of the upcoming coach for the South African cricket team. But Gary himself hasn't taken any decision yet. Maybe he will agree because he can get close with his family as South Africa don't play so many matches like India so Gary can stay in his city or atleast in his country. He may take the job because he loves to work and not a lazy person but he too can think of taking a break before accepting it. I have heard Tendulkar wants him for his IPL team Mumbai Indians. He may take that too because he has to work several months only plus he can get his favourite player Tendulkar back again.

Hi Dear rafaelnandal! After so many speculations about his next assignment now it is felt that Gary will be taken the coach's ob with Mumbai Indians team in IPL 5! Ma be till that time he may want to spend some time with the family and friends in his home country! Thus by joining this team in next session he can re associate himself with Sachin Teldulkar again! Thanks !

i didn't hear this news that Gary may join Mumbai Indians. If he really do it, it will definitely increase the assets of the team. Sachin will be very happy, as in his last few years Gary made the most impact. Gary can manage this job as IPL is only about 2 months, which won't make him stay without his family for longer period.

Yes I too know that Gary Kirsten one of the best coaches for India to coach South Africa after world cup it is a sad news for India and I think he has brought up the Indian team led by Dhoni very well.If he goes it is a great loss to Indian cricket. But I feel the Situation of Gary Kirsten as he had coached India for almost three years he had very less time to go to his country and see his family. Though he resigns as a coach of India I am Sure he was one of the best coaches and let us pray to god Duncan Fletcher would be the best replace.

Hi Dear Sabhari! You are right! He actually found the weak points of the team and highlighted them to the players and then helped them to over come these weak points. While doing all these these things he was very careful , not hurting the ego of the players! He was like one of the team mates and enjoyed the respect and popularity in the team amongst the team mates! Thus his style of coaching and fine tuning helped the Indian lot a great deal and by rightly fine tuning the team he has taken the team to the highest level in ODI!
Yes no doubt that he was one of the best coaches India had so far as the results themselves are speaking the truth! Let us see how Fletcher would handle this team of ours! May be he can be a better coach than Gary Kirsten? Lets hope for the best!
Thanks !

Hi Dear Manoj Kumar! Yes, it will be good for South Africa if he coaches the team, as he did miracles with the Team India with his tactful and impressive coaching! There has been a fantastic rapport between the players and the coach and also amongst the players and the coaching team ! Which rarely happens because of ego clashes, as happened many times in the past! So this docile, down to earth but strong attitude of his made the team India to give their best to become number one within three years time! He is really a nice Human being as appreciated by Dhoni, Tendulkar for that matter all the team mates of Indian Team!
This news I have gathered from Wikipedia and now on other sites I found that South African team is considering him as one of the contender for the South African Team's coach and nothing has been finalised so far! Thanks for responding !!! !!!

Hi Rao,
Are you sure that Gary Kirsten had agreed to coach for south africa??
I read in todays newspaper that Kirsten had refused to coach for south africa as his family needs him. He has 2 sons and both are still small kids.
By the way, I had checked in cricinfo.com as well. I could not see any news like Kirsten had agreed to coach South africa.
Just make sure the news you had mentioned is right..
And at the same time, If Gary going to coach south africa, then I will feel really happy. It is a great team in cricket. recently they had lost their consistency. And the no.1 unlucky team in world cups. If they are going to rebuild like the time of 'Hansie Cronje', then it wil be really interesting to watch..

Hi Dear Raghul77ster! Having gone through your response and other responses received from our friends I am having a feeling that I have got a wrong information,as Gary Kirsten has confirmed about his joining as South African coach neither on any News Channel nor on any site!
In fact while referring about this coach yesterday on wikipedia I have come across a mention that since Gary Kirsten got retired as the coach of Indian Team after the World Cup and at the same me Corrie Van Zyl the South African team's coach got retired, it is linked that Gary will be the next coach of South African team! I never tried to get the authentication of the fact!
But then afterwards having gone through the responses I have checked from various sources and various nets where I couldn't get any information where Gary has confirmed about this fact! So I think it is speculation in the media! I am not really hundred percent sure about it!
In any case, like you said , since it is confirmed that Gary is no more training Indian Team, if takes up the training of South African team ,may be he can guide the team towards success, if he is having special recipe to tackle the problem what they are having right now!
Thanks dear friend for responding!

My friend as far as i know ,Cricket SA has shortlisted 6 people for this job of coach and Kirsten is one of them,so its not sure that Kirsten is joining SA team .I think it is possible that Kirsten may not take up any major job for an year or two as coaching SA presently is more difficult than coaching India.I am mentioning this because Kirsten clearly mentioned that he was totally dedicated towards team India and did find a little time for his family and if he takes up the job of coaching SA this job too will be of great responsibility and it would be difficult for him to find time for his family again.Yes he will be at home since he will be coaching his home team but SA tour a lot just like India so its going to be very similar to his job of coaching India .As far as SA team is concerned they have always been one of the top teams since 1992, Kirsten just applied the SA model or Australian model of cricket to Indian team and hence got amazing results. But with SA he cannot apply the same plan, SA cricketers are already doing all that modern training techniques which Indian team is following since last 4 years.Weakness of Indian team was leisurely attitude and lack of discipline while bowling and fielding , Kirsten corrected it and hence Indian team became no 1 in tests and won the world cup.The problem with SA is more , they are very disciplined and talented but they have a big problem of choking on important occasions.Even the greatest coach of all time , Late Bob Woolmer was not able to find the solution to this problem so it would be interesting to know how Kirsten deals with this prblem if he takes up the job.Anyways his contribution towards Indian team is immense and we all are extremely thankful to him, i dearly hope he joins Indian cricket in any form in future , may be once again as a coach after 3-4 years.

Hi Dear Grvdubey! You are right! I too gathered this information on various sites about the Gary Kirsten's short listing! In fact I have gathered the information about his appointment as the Coach of South African Team from Wikipedia and posted the discussion. But later on I realised that this thing is not a authentic source as any body can edit the matter given in the text and then I have switched on to other sites to gather the information that Gary Kirsten is under African Cricket Board's consideration to be appointed as the coach along with five other contenders!
Yes as you said, Kirsten requires some rest after coaching Indian team for three years and I heard saying him so on the TV that he would like to spend some time with his family at his place before taking up any new assignment!
Now regarding the South African Team you have a valid point, they have been adopting he tactics and techniques since long back which our team adopted within last three tears under the guidance of Gary Kristen! So Gary may not be having much to add to make the team better one as the team is already a good one!
Yes, that would be a different thing that if he is having any 'Mantra' for over coming the problem of Chocking of the South African team on important occasions as you mentioned, then he could be some help to the team! It would be not any easy job for him to coach South African Team as the temperament of the players in that team is very different fro our players and those people are already disciplined and dedicated players, known all over the World! So to be a successful coach Gary Kirsten will need some special Magic wand to over come the specific problem what they are facing it right now!
Right, as you said out team has learnt the techniques and tactics from this great coach and they have got now a direction and vision for them! His contribution to our team was no doubt was of great help and we Indians should not for get this and if by the God willing he can again join the team a a coach in future to prove his mettle to the World by once again taking Indian team to the Top of the World!
Thanks for the informative response,I sincerely appreciate your efforts and sensible presentation! Please keep it up! Thanks again for responding!

Hello AKRao,
How are you doing?
Yesterday in newspaper it was given that he will be coaching Mumbai Indians from next session, but the things were under pipeline and were about to be finalized. I am keeping an eye on this news and will come back with my response after proper investigation.

Thanks dear Nishant, I am fine!
May be you are right. In fact I have collected/ gathered the information from World Encyclopaedia where they have said that Gary Kirsten has taken over South African Team as the New coach after his retirement from the Indian Team as a Coach! But then from other sites I gathered later on that he wants to go back to his family comprising his two sons and wife and wants to spend some time with them before taking up any new assignment which he would be doing after say about two or three months time.
Now this is new information for me and let us wait till the time what exactly he decides to keep our discussion going! Thanks for responding and the information!
